Hempsted     Two Green Sandpipers, a Barn Owl and Whitethroats, Sedge and Reed Warblers in song at Netheridge Farm this morning. (Mark Hobson).

Amberley     At Theescombe Lane at 4pm a juvenile Red Kite circling the field opposite for 35 minutes before heading away N. (Phil Williams).

Stroud     At least 16 Swifts at SO842049 nesting in the chimney of Fromehall Mill, Lodgemoor Lane, also a Grass Snake on the mill pond at 6:50pm. (Duerden Cormack).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This evening a Barn Owl hunting over the Short Pool at 7:30pm. Still two adult Oystercatchers with at least one full grown chick, two or three adult Lapwings with families of three and one full grown chicks, an adult Redshank with four chicks, almost full grown, a Curlew roosting, a Little Ringed Plover, four Little Egrets, five Grey Herons, and a Mallard with four ducklings. Cotswold Water Park West     At Shorncote 10:30am-4pm at Pit 85a birds included seven Pied Wagtails, four Linnets, nine Reed Buntings. two Cetti’s Warbler calling, eight Sedge Warblers, a Green Woodpecker, six Swallows and two Common Terns. On Pit 85b eight Common Terns including a juvenile, two Kingfishers, two Mute Swans with five cygnets, five Swifts, five Cormorants, two Yellow Wagtails, two Sedge Warblers and two Grey Wagtails.
