Forest of Dean This evening three Nightjars (2m) churring from 9:35pm, a family of Stonechats with 3 or 4 juveniles and four Linnets. (Nick Hawkridge with BOC/Bristol Nats & GNS).
Symonds Yat In the Yat Rock area the Peregrines and the three juveniles, Buzzards, Ravens, a Green Woodpecker, Chiffchaffs, a pair of Blackcaps, a Marsh Tit, Long-tailed Tits, Stock Doves, a Jay, an adult and a juvenile Grey Heron, a Nuthatch, a Tawny Owl calling, Swifts, Swallows and House Martins. Other sightings included Holly Blue, Marbled White, Small Tortoiseshell, Silver-washed Fritillaries, Comma, Ringlet, Meadow Brown, Gatekeeper, Speckled Wood, Red Admiral, Green-veined White, Small and Large White butterflies, White-legged Damselflies, Humming-bird Hawkmoths, Bank Voles and Wood Mice. Daneway Banks Two Ravens and at least one Redstart. Also four Large Blues and 12 Silver-washed Fritillaries. (Andy Lewis).
Tewkesbury At Upham Meadow an adult Curlew and two chicks and a Sedge Warbler singing. At Mitton ten Mallards (two with broods of two and three ducklings), a Grey Heron, 12 Lapwings including three chicks and a Green Sandpiper today. (Mike Smart).
