Gloucester     At Horsebere Brook Flood Storage Lake today 30+ Mallards, four Coots (1 juvenile), six Moorhens (2 juveniles), two Mute Swans, three Grey Herons, a Cormorant, eight Swallows, two Swifts, two Little Grebes (ad & juv), a Green Sandpiper and a Whitethroat. (Joe Lewis). A Grey Wagtail feeding around the pond this morning in the garden at Park Avenue, Longlevens. (Pam & Frank Bryant).

Ashleworth Ham     Today’s CES ringing session caught 115 birds including 34 Whitethroats, two Blackcaps, two Sedge Warblers, two juvenile Grasshopper Warblers, 13 Chiffchaffs, 12 Willow Warblers, two adult Redstarts, 22 Reed Buntings and a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 18 species in all caught. Also c30 House Martins hawking insects over the reserve. (Mike Smart/Mervyn Greening).

Bisley/Battlecombe Valley     Four House Martins, a Swift over S, three Whitethroats, 13+ Swallows, 5+ Chiffchaffs, three Bullfinches, a Stock Dove, a Green Woodpecker, five Nuthatch, at least two Marsh Tits, a Goldcrest, a Jay, a Willow Warbler, six Buzzards, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Blackcap today.
