Quedgeley     100+ Swifts just flew S between Rea Bridge & Sellars Bridge at 3:45pm. Also a Chiffchaff and a pair of Bullfinches. (MK).

Berkeley     A Marsh Harrier early morning just N of the Pill. (Andy Jordan).

WWT Slimbridge     A Wood Sandpiper on the Rushy this morning. (Jon Mercer).

Cotswold Water Park East     At Pit 126 a winter-plumaged/juv Black-tailed Godwit with a yellow ring on its right leg, a Dunlin and a Little Ringed Plover. (John Durell).

Stow-on-the-Wold     A Red Kite over the supermarket car park this afternoon at 4:10pm drifting W. (Howard Taylor).

Ashleworth Ham     A Constant Effort ringing session caught 47 birds including 16 Whitethroats, six Blackcaps, five Lesser Whitethroats, a Chiffchaff, a Willow Warbler, two juvenile Redstarts and a Reed Bunting. On the reserve a Peregrine flew over and a recently fledged Cuckoo being fed by a Sedge Warbler. (Mervyn Greening/Barrie Mills/Mike Smart). Symonds Yat     In the Yat Rock area today the resident Peregrines, Buzzards, Ravens, House Martins, Swallows, two Barn Owls, Stock Doves, a Marsh Tit and a Spotted Flycatcher. Also Painted Lady, Gatekeeper, Large White, Holly Blue and Meadow Brown butterflies, a Rose Chafer and Hummingbird Hawk moths and two Bank Voles. Cheltenham     At Lansdown railway station two Tawny Owls calling to each other this evening. (Keith White).

My name is Mike King and have lived all my life in Gloucestershire. I am happiest birding around Frampton but I especially love Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
