WWT Slimbridge A pair of Curlews on the reserve have hatched four chicks. A TURTLE DOVE flew along seawall S and across the reserve boundary to the Elders on the Gloucester-Sharpness Canal towpath/Old Duck Decoy near Purton at 10:30am. Also the SPOONBILL still on the reserve today. (Martin McGill).
Cleeve Hill At the Bill Smyllie and Masts Reserve today a pair of Buzzards, a Kestrel, a Cuckoo, a Raven, a Stock Dove, a Tree Pipit, a Willow Warbler, a Mistle Thrush, Skylarks, Linnets, Swifts and a male Redstart. Other sightings included Small Blue, Common Blue and Small Heath butterflies, Yellow Shell, Six-spot Burnet and Cinnabar moths, a Glow Worm and a Weasel. (Chris & Phil Andrews). Pic by Phil.

Forest of Dean This afternoon at Nagshead at Lower pond, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Redstart, a Song Thrush, a Mistle Thrush, young Blue Tits being fed, a Willow Warbler singing, a Chiffchaff singing, a Blackbird, a Mallard with three ducklings and a Mandarin female with three ducklings. Coombe Hill Meadows This afternoon birds included four Oystercatchers, including two large chicks, four Redshanks, nine Lapwings including four chicks, 15 Mallards, including a pair with nine ducklings, five Shelducks, seven Canada Geese (5 juvs), 18 Mute Swans, four Grey Herons, three Little Egrets, seven Whitethroats, nine Sedge Warblers, male and female Blackcap, two Greenfinches, three Skylarks, eight Reed Buntings, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 12 Sand Martins, four Swallows and a Kestrel.
