Symonds Yat From Yat Rock viewpoint today the resident Peregrine pair and another Peregrine on Great Doward Hill nearby, a Red Kite, a Hobby, a male Sparrowhawk, Buzzards, two Ravens, Swallows, Swifts, House Martins and Sand Martins, Chiffchaffs, a Kingfisher, a female Goosander with seven young, Stock Doves and nine Mandarins. Other sightings included a Bank Vole, a Wood Mouse, Fallow Deer, Hornets, Rose Chafers, Hummingbird Hawkmoths, a Speckled Bush Cricket, a White-legged Damselfly, Speckled Wood, Ringlet, Meadow Brown, Red Admiral and Painted Lady butterflies. Maisemore Along Church Road near and around the pool and to the weir on the Severn this afternoon birds included the two released male Wood Ducks, the male Red Crested Pochard of origin unknown, two Mute Swans still sitting on a nest, 23 Mallards, four Tufted Ducks (2m, 2f), a pair of Kingfishers fishing, three Green Woodpeckers, four Blackcaps, five Goldfinches, a male Bullfinch, five Greenfinches, a Treecreeper, 11 Swifts, four House Martins, a Sparrowhawk and a Buzzard.
