Frampton pools Four Teal, two Gadwalls, a Common Sandpiper, a Green Sandpiper, the adult Yellow-legged Gull, three Common Terns, two Grey Wagtails, 51 Chiffchaffs, 24 Blackcaps, three Willow Warblers, nine Reed Warblers, a Whitethroat, seven Bullfinches, two Nuthatches and three Treecreepers today. Coombe Hill Meadows This morning seven Green Sandpipers and a juvenile Water Rail on Long Pool, a female Garganey on the main island, a Yellow Wagtail over, a Small Red-eyed Damselfly on Snipe Pool and Emerald Damselflies along the canal. (Ian Ralphs).
Quedgeley A Common Tern flew low over Shelduck Road with what looked like a beak full of fish at 3:40pm today. (Steve Pullen).
Highnam Woods This afternoon three Chiffchaffs, two Green Woodpeckers, a Great Spotted Woodpecker calling, three Nuthatches, a Treecreeper, a Song Thrush, a Pied Wagtail, two Buzzards calling and a family of six Wrens. (John Fletcher).
Symonds Yat In the Yat Rock area today the resident Peregrine pair and an adult Peregrine on Great Doward Hill nearby, a juvenile Sparrowhawk, Buzzards, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Jay, Stock Doves, House Martins, Swallows, Mandarins and a Kingfisher. Other sightings included a Bank Vole, a Hornet, Hummingbird Hawkmoths, Rose Chafers, Fallow Deer and Silver-washed Fritillary, Painted Lady, Ringlet, Holly Blue, Common Blue, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown and Large White butterflies.
