Cotswold Water Park West At Shorncote Reedbeds between 5pm and dark six Grey Herons, six Teal, 4-5 Water Rails calling, three Snipe, a Green Woodpecker, 2-3 Barn Owls hunting after sunset, a Tawny Owl calling, c20 Redwings and c15 Fieldfares, 50+ Pied and two Grey Wagtails came into roost, four Cetti’s Warblers, two Chiffchaffs and a Reed Bunting. Symonds Yat In the Yat Rock viewpoint area today the Peregrine pair plus one of the Strathdon Cliff Peregrine pair on Great Doward Hill, four Buzzards, the resident Ravens, a Jay, Mandarins, Redwings, Stock Doves and Long-tailed Tits. Other sightings included Hornets, a Pipistrelle, an Orange Ladybird, rutting Fallow Deer, Red Admiral and Peacock butterflies. (Chris & Phil Andrews).
Bibury 32 Golden Plovers at 8:30am flying over and around a field to the N of Bibury at SP130078. Also 30+ Redwings and five Fieldfares in a hedgerow then flying off to the W SP126077. (Will Lishman).
Frampton pools On the Sailing Lake a female Red Crested Pochard, two pairs of Pochards, two pairs of Little Grebes and a Chiffchaff singing. On Court Lake a Little Egret, three Green Sandpipers, a Coal Tit and a Nuthatch. In the general area 100+ Fieldfares flew W, 10 Redwings flew E, a Green Woodpecker, ten Buzzards and three Kestrels today. (MK).
