Coombe Hill Meadows     A Whooper Swan from 8:50am until 9:12am when it flew off, a singing Chiffchaff briefly at dawn, a Reed Bunting in song, four Little Egrets and 330 Lapwings. (Ian Ralphs). Also today 23 Mute Swans, 30 Canada Geese, five Shelducks, 120 Wigeon, 200 Teal, 30 Mallards, 15 Pintails, 25 Shovelers, ten Tufted Ducks, two Grey Herons, five Coot, two Moorhens, a Kingfisher, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers drumming, c400 winter thrushes feeding on the ground, the majority Fieldfares and c50 Redwings and two Reed Buntings singing. Ashleworth Ham     26 Mute Swans, 95 Greylags, four Canada Geese, 200 Wigeon, 200 Teal, 15 Gadwalls, 30 Mallards, ten Pintails, 23 Shovelers, five Tufted Ducks, 80 Coots and 300 Lapwings. (Andrew Gooden/Mike Smart).

Aston Down     A Short-eared Owl on the Cherington side of Aston Down at 5pm. (Mike Cook).

Cotswold Water Park East     On Pit 127 two Red Crested Pochards, 95 Wigeon, 14 Gadwalls, 102 Teal, a Shoveler, eight Pochards, 22 Tufted Ducks, seven Pintails and a Little Egret. On Pit 126 42 Tufted Ducks, seven Red Crested Pochards, six Pochards, a Water Rail heard and a Reed Bunting singing. On Pit 125 three Tufted Ducks, 17 Pochards, three Gadwalls and an Egyptian Goose. On Pit 123 six Goldeneyes, four Tufted Ducks and two Pochards. At Pit 115 c10 Siskins. On Pit 116 50 Wigeon, 22 Tufted Ducks and four Red Crested Pochards. On Pit 114 246 Tufted Ducks, 20 Goldeneyes, 178 Wigeon, two Pintails, four Teal, five Shovelers, 128 Pochards, a Kingfisher and at least 250 Lapwings over to the NW. (Robin Griffiths).

Sapperton Park     100s Chaffinches and several Bramblings feeding in a fallow arable field at SO 9605 0281 regularly flying up into oak trees on western side. (Sam Walker).

Nailsworth     A Dipper along the river at Egypt Mill at 2:30pm. (Paul Sutton).

Halmore    Garden birds today included male and female Great Spotted Woodpeckers together, a Green Woodpecker, a singing Song Thrush, a female Sparrowhawk and a ringed male Reed Bunting. (Chris Newton). Pic by Chris.
