WWT Slimbridge On the Rushy this morning a female Ruddy Shelduck, 33 Shelducks and two broods, a pair of Teal, a female Wigeon paired to a hybrid male, 50 Gadwalls, eight Tufted Ducks, two Avocets, three Lapwings, two Redshanks, two Oystercatchers and a Grey Heron. Slimbridge Wetland Centre will re-open on June 10. Members of the public and WWT members must pre-book online to visit so we can manage numbers. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Longney This evening at the old orchards and along the Severn Way birds included a Little Owl, a Barn Owl, a Tawny Owl, seven Goldfinches, three Greenfinches, two Stock Doves, four Song Thrushes, two Chiffchaffs, three Swallows, five House Martins, two Grey Herons, a Buzzard and a Kestrel. Cirencester At Cirencester Park by the Polo Ground and the Ivy Lodge very large groups of Swallows and Swifts. Two pairs of Red Kites near the Queen Anne statue, and more large groups of Swallows and Swifts there. (Felicity Cobb).
