Frampton     The SPOTTED CRAKE calling again tonight at Splatt Bridge from 10:30pm. Listen from the gate on the towpath only. (Mark Coller). Earlier three Mandarins, four Common Terns, a Grey Heron, a Greenshank calling, a Water Rail calling, a Little Owl calling, two Hobbies, 20+ Swifts and 300+ Starlings. (Mark Coller/MK).

WWT Slimbridge    At Zeiss Hide a WOOD SANDPIPER on the Top New Piece this morning, also 104 Black-tailed Godwits, three Redshanks, an adult summer-plumaged Spotted Redshank, 79 Avocets, five Little Ringed Plover, four Common Sandpipers, 34 Dunlins, five Ruffs, 123 Lapwing and a Marsh Harrier. On South Lake 80 Black-tailed Godwits, four Ruff , two Little Ringed Plovers, 55 Redshanks, an Oystercatcher and ten Avocets. (Slimbridge Sightings/Dot Jones).

Cirencester     A WHITE STORK flying over N to S at 8:15am. (Ian Grange).

Nailsworth    Four Crossbills and 23+ Siskins over this morning between 5:30-8am. (Francis Steuck).

Stroud     A Garden Warbler heard and seen briefly in Screwfix car park. (Matt Williams).

Bullo    A Redstart and a Marsh Tit this morning along the river at Bullo Pill. (David Smith).

Ashleworth Ham    Late evening a Barn Owl hunting, two Oystercatchers, a Common Sandpiper, 39 Mallards, three Grey Herons, a Buzzard, a Sand Martin, two Mute Swans, two Song Thrushes and Roe Deer. (John Fletcher).

Longlevens    A Mistle Thrush feeding in the garden, a garden first and a juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker, for its 8th consecutive day of daily visits (several visits per day). (Steven Parker). Pic by Steven.

My name is Mike King and have lived all my life in Gloucestershire. I am happiest birding around Frampton but I especially love Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
