Tarlton     A ringtail HEN HARRIER in low flight due W across open country and was obviously passing through at ST955999 at 2pm today. (Martin Wright).

Frampton     A GREAT WHITE EGRET on the pond on Rosamund’s Green by the Three Horseshoes until 2:40pm at least. (Nick Goatman/MK/Jonathan Bull).

Saul Warth    At HT 184+ Curlews, four Bar-tailed Godwits, 20 Knot, 12 Dunlins, six Ringed Plovers and nine Little Egrets. In the hedgerows 10+ Chiffchaffs, two Blackcaps, two Whitethroats, a pair of Stonechats and 24 Meadow Pipits being hunted by a Kestrel. (MK).

Calcot Manor     A Hawfinch, 180+ Goldfinches, 60+ Linnets, two possibly three Stonechats, and a fairly large movement of Willow Warblers, Chiffchaffs, Blackcaps and a Whitethroat. (Terry Grant).

Cleeve Hill     Flocks of 25 Corn Buntings, 75 Goldfinches and 40 Linnets on unharvested wheat crop at West Down, and a female Adder nearby. (Roger Wasley).

Berkeley     Two Wheatears by Severn House Farm, a large Egret sp on the pond and a brood of Green Woodpeckers in the grounds of the Power Station. (Andrew Jones).

Highnam Woods     This afternoon two Goldcrests, five Nuthatches, four Great Spotted Woodpeckers, two Marsh Tits, a Jay, four Pied Wagtails, a Sparrowhawk, three Ravens and three Buzzards. (John Fletcher).

Forest of Dean     This morning at Crabtree Hill a Buzzard, four Stonechats, five Goldfinches and a Green Woodpecker. (Martin Russell).

My name is Mike King and have lived all my life in Gloucestershire. I am happiest birding around Frampton but I especially love Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
