Sharpness    A male BLACK REDSTART still by the tall building along Dock Road early afternoon. (Andy Jordan).

Tetbury Upton     A ringtail HEN HARRIER today at 10:15am, quartering fields off the B4014 opposite the Chavenage Lane junction. (Michael Cook).

Forest of Dean     Three Hawfinches in the Yew trees next to the Cricket pitch in Crown Lane. (Steve Palmer).

Frampton     From Splatt Bridge late afternoon a Marsh Harrier and a nice display of Starlings over the reed bed looking south. (Paul Rich).

Kingswood, Wotton-under-Edge     At least 50 Siskins this morning at ST751918 feeding on Alders along the stream-side footpath from Nind to Kingswood. (Vic Polley).

Rodley    14 Snipe, 11 Little Egrets, four Cattle Egrets, five Stonechats and a large flock of finches including Linnets and Goldfinches near the river. (David Smith).

Hawling     A Barn Owl and a Tawny Owl and another calling a few hundred yards away. (Cas & Luther Hambling age 11 & 9).

Birdlip     c400 Golden Plovers near the Air Balloon pub beside the A417 at 10:30am. (Duncan Dine).

Brockworth     A Raven in Tesco car park this morning. ( Julie Loxley).

Cleeve Hill     A small mobile flock of Fieldfares and Redwings, two Goldcrests and a Woodcock. (Les Ditchburn).

Coombe Hill Meadows     A Bullfinch between the car park and the Grundon hide this morning. (Steve Mockford).

About The Gloster Birder

My name is Mike King and have lived all my life in Gloucestershire. I am happiest birding around Frampton but I especially love Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
