Ashleworth Ham A SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF calling along the public footpath at Ashleworth tonight SO829257. A few other Chiffchaffs about around Hasfield Ham. (Jeremy Squire).
Forest of Dean The GREAT GREY SHRIKE again today at Crabtree Hill. It spent a lot of time in the centre area of the reserve and was quite active and present all afternoon. (Mark Watkins/Martin & Jenny Green ). A Bullfinch along the entrance track at Beechenhurst this morning. (Chris Keeling).
Leighterton At Boxwell Farm at least two Bramblings (m & f) in large mixed finch flock of several hundred birds that also contained 5+ Greenfinches. They were feeding on sunflower heads in the field margin. (Paul Rich).
Saul This morning eight Little Egrets, three CATTLE EGRETS, ten Grey Herons, 32+ Meadow Pipits, two Rock Pipits,a WATER PIPIT, a Little Owl, a Kestrel and good numbers of Fieldfares and Redwings. (Neil Smart).
Berkeley Seven Crossbills, at least two males and a female, feeding in Berkeley Deer Park this afternoon. Also present, 1000+ Common Gulls. VisMig this morning included 137 Redwings, 69 Fieldfares, five Pied Wagtails, a Grey Wagtail, four Meadow Pipits, a Redpoll sp, 21 Chaffinches, a Siskin, 34 Goldfinches, two Linnets, 141 Woodpigeons, 23 Canada Geese and 230+ Starlings. Coombe Hill Meadows A Black-tailed Godwit this morning on the southern edge of the Short Pool. (Ian Hull). 16 Mute Swans, 500 Greylags, 160 Canada Geese, 455 Wigeon, 30 Teal, 20 Mallards, two Pintails, 40 Shovelers, two Water Rails calling (rom Broadmere and Short Pool, four Coots, 20 Lapwings, three Snipe, a Jack Snipe, a Little Owl calling from the Wharf at dusk, three Stonechats and 50+ Fieldfares. Nailsworth Five Blackcaps (3m, 2f) in the front garden together and probably two different ones (male and female) which were in the side garden at that time. Also another movement of Woodpigeons first thing with 2,000+ flying S before 9am. (Terry Grant).
Rodborough Five Lesser Redpolls in the Birch at the Bear Hotel end of the Common. (Simon Ashley).
Longney Along the Severn Way this afternoon eight Stonechats (5m, 3f), 12 Meadow Pipits, 35 Linnets flushed by a Buzzard, 62 Fieldfares, 37 Redwings, a Song Thrush, three Goldfinches, four Chaffinches, two Grey Wagtails, two Pied Wagtails, 11 House Sparrows, 200 Starlings, 120 Carrion Crows and three Mallards. Frampton Mid-morning birds included a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Linnet, a Long-tailed Tit and c7 Pied Wagtails. (Steve Mockford).
