A GREAT WHITE EGRET, ten Little Egrets, a Curlew, two Cuckoos seen and heard, nine Grey Herons, a Cormorant, a Great Black-backed Gull, a juvenile Pied Wagtail, a Yellow Wagtail, two Teal, an Oystercatcher, two Lapwings, a Reed Bunting, a Sedge Warbler, a Whitethroat, three Swallows and a Great Spotted Woodpecker. Frampton On the flashes N of Splatt Bridge this morning the Ross’s Goose flew to the pools, four Little Egrets, a Sparrowhawk, three Avocets (2 adults, one of which was colour-ringed, and a chick), a Lapwing, an adult summer MEDITERRANEAN GULL, a Cuckoo in the 100- Acre, a Kingfisher, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, a Sedge Warbler, two Reed Warblers and two Whitethroats. (Martin Wightman). On Court Lake today the Ross’s Goose again with 95 Barnacle Geese, two Hobbies, two Jays and a Red Kite through at 10:45am. Around the pools two Oystercatchers, a Yellow Wagtail, five Cetti’s Warblers, two Sedge Warblers, three Whitethroat, a Lesser Whitethroat and four Chiffchaffs. Also four Scarce Chasers, 6+ Black-tailed Skimmers, a Four-spotted Chaser, 3+ Emperors, two Common Darters and countless Damselflies, mainly Common Blue and a Red-eyed Damselfly.
