Coombe Hill Meadows     Early morning birds included a Great White Egret, three Snipe, a Common Sandpiper, a Golden Plover, three Grey Herons, a juvenile Whitethroat, a Sedge Warbler and a Yellow Wagtail. (Jeremy Holland).

Frampton pools     Around the pools today the adult Yellow-legged Gull, 100+ Barnacle Geese, the Bar-headed x Snow Goose hybrid, Hobby, a Peregrine with Black-headed Gull prey, a Sparrowhawk, a Buzzard, c5 Common Terns, four Cetti’s Warblers, a Reed Warbler, a Kingfisher, a Stock Dove, a Swallow, an adult Pied Wagtail with seven juveniles. Walmore Common     Four Whinchats and a Green Sandpiper this evening. (Andy Jayne).

Twyning     A Great White Egret fishing on the River Avon, two fields downriver from The Fleet Inn. (Derek Summers).

Rodley     A Wheatear this morning at Rodley Sands. (David Smith).

Nailsworth     From 7:55-8:30pm 194 Swifts flying S, very high. (Terry Grant).

Chavenage Lane area     Early morning a female/immature Redstart, a Whitethroat and a Stonechat. (Paul Rich).

Witcombe Reservoirs     A Common Sandpiper this morning. (Eric Harris).

WWT Slimbridge     A Red Kite over the Tack Piece at 11:20am. (Paul Clark).

Hasfield Ham     A Greenshank flew downriver early on, calling, a Buzzard and a Kestrel. Constant Effort Site ringing catch of 32 birds, including 11 Whitethroats, five Blackcaps, a Chiffchaff, a Willow Warbler, a Garden Warbler, rare here, a Reed Warbler and two Lesser Whitethroats. Forest of Dean     In the Clanna area a Golden-ringed Dragonfly and a Silver-washed Fritillary today. (Paul Woolams).

My name is Mike King and have lived all my life in Gloucestershire. I am happiest birding around Frampton but I especially love Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
