Frampton     This morning a Little Owl in the churchyard. From the five-barred gate at Splatt Bridge a Great White Egret and three Yellow Wagtails. The adult Yellow-legged Gull was roosting on the floating hut at the Sailing Lake. (Alan Baxter/Derek Summers).

Nailsworth     124 Swifts S between 7am and 9am. (Terry Grant).

Chavenage Lane & Calcot area     412 Swifts mainly flying S, but some heading W, between 12:20pm and 1:30pm. Also three Stonechats. (Terry Grant).

Frampton Mansell     c75 Golden Plovers this morning at 8:45am in flight above a stubble field near Emmerson Lane. (Michael Cook).

Gretton     A juvenile male Great Spotted Woodpecker on a garden peanut feeder this evening. (Roger Wasley).

Alderton     A male Southern Hawker dragonfly this afternoon on a farm track enclosed on both sides by hedgerows. (Roger Wasley).

My name is Mike King and have lived all my life in Gloucestershire. I am happiest birding around Frampton but I especially love Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
