Maisemore     A large finch flock N of Maisemore near Longridge End c770 Chaffinches with 10+ Yellowhammers and one Brambling. Two Red Kites and 80 Stock Doves nearby. (Andy Jayne).

Slimbridge     At Shepherds Patch the GLOSSY IBIS again by the Dutch barn next to the canal at SO 72740 04303. Please park sensibly roadside or in the free car park before the bridge SO 72895 04128. Four Cattle Egrets on the right hand side of road fields before the pumping station. Another two Cattle Egrets in a field with two Little Egrets opposite the new car park before the pub. WWT Slimbridge    34 Knot with 100+ Black-tailed Godwits spooked by a MERLIN at Zeiss hide late morning. (Magnus Carter).

Highnam Woods     Birds today included a Coal Tit, a Marsh Tit, a Nuthatch, a Goldcrest, a Raven and a pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers. (Rose Lennard).

Cheltenham     The drake Mandarin still on Park Campus pond today. (David Norman).

Stroud     A pair of Mandarins on the River Frome at Griffin Mills today. (Michael Barwick).

Dursley     A Dipper near the end of Water Street today. (Geoff Moyser).

Coombe Hill Meadows     c80 Pied Wagtails, a young male Goshawk, a Great White Egret and three Little Egrets today. (Ian Hull).

My name is Mike King and have lived all my life in Gloucestershire. I am happiest birding around Frampton but I especially love Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
