Epney     The CASPIAN TERN again opposite the Anchor occasionally today. First seen at 9:55am then flew NE at 10:35am. (Paul Masters/Roy Kinchin/Sam Walker). It returned at 3:45pm for a while. (Julian Long). Generally the best place to look for it is at Epney where it usually returns although you may have a wait. We’re not sure where it goes to on long periods away. The TURTLE DOVE for its 6th day on wires and in trees around the Anchor Inn again today. (Ian Ralphs). Please park sensibly by the entrance opposite the seawall without blocking access and not in the pub unless you are using it. Also a Little Ringed Plover briefly on the mud opposite Epney tonight. (Jeremy Squire).

Berkeley     A  juvenile cuckoo first seen at 8pm last night near Berkley Castle, and then again this morning. Also a Sparrowhawk. (Dave Abrams & Hannah Willoughby).

Also six Red Kites drifted over garden in Berkeley this morning. ( Andrew Jones).

Stinchcombe Hill     A juvenile Red Kite at 10:20am. (Carolyn Thraves).

Saul     A Hobby flew over The Stables Café at Saul Junction being mobbed by Swallows at 9:10am. (Paul Masters).

Saul Warth     At high tide this morning three Knot, a Sanderling, 52 Black-tailed Godwits, 32 Dunlins and 24 Oystercatchers. (Richard Hearn).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Early this morning 11 Grey Herons, two Great White Egrets, at least six Little Egrets, 22+ Lapwings, a Snipe, two Reed Buntings, a hunting Kestrel, a Buzzard and a Red Kite flew over, 2+ Blackcaps, two Sedge Warblers, 6+ Swallows and two Wrens. (Clare McLeod).

Ashleworth Ham     CES ringing session caught  77 birds including 16 Whitethroats, two Lesser Whitethroats, 14 Blackcaps, a Sedge Warbler, a Chiffchaff, two Reed Buntings, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 11 Long-tailed Tits, three Treecreepers and a Linnet. A Hobby seen chasing a Red Kite and a Raven. (Mike Smart/Mervyn Greening).

Gloucester     An adult Peregrine flew over Tuffley carrying avian prey being harried by a begging juvenile at 2:40pm. (Ian Elphick). A Peregrine circled high over Hucclecote this afternoon and stooped to the SE. (Terry Fenton).

Painswick     A strong passage of 4180 Swifts today over the house between 5:30am and 6pm. Also a Hobby which flew over chasing Swifts at 12:40pm and three Swallows flew S/W. (John Fleming).

Brockworth     65 Swifts over Henley Bank today. (Terry Fenton).
