Coombe Hill Meadows     This afternoon two WOOD SANDPIPERS from Grundon hide but chased off by a Shoveler at 4:30pm. Also five Great White Egrets, four Cattle Egrets, 16 Little Egrets, a Little Ringed Plover, a Yellow Wagtail, five Whimbrels, two Greenshanks, an adult LITTLE GULL and four singing Redstarts. This morning an adult LITTLE GULL, a Cattle Egret, a Ruff, two Avocets, two Greenshanks, a Black-tailed Godwits, three Whimbrels, a Curlew, three Oystercatchers and two Redshanks. (Andy Lodge).

Saul Warth     An ARCTIC TERN flew high N after resting briefly on the mud at 8:45am, 13 Bar-tailed Godwits, an Avocet, a Whimbrel, a Curlew, a Common Sandpiper, five Oystercatchers, 12 Dunlins, 18 Swallows, 16 Sand Martins, a pair of Stonechats, two Whitethroats, two Blackcaps and a Roe Deer. Ashleworth & Hasfield Hams     Late morning/early afternoon 11 Mute Swans, three drake Shovelers, a Grey Heron, two Great White Egrets and two Little Egrets all from the viewing screen at Meerend Thicket. A Peregrine in flight between the hams. Along Stank Lane a Grey Heron, a male Redstart and a male Reed Bunting; also two Willow Warblers, two Blackcaps, at least three Lesser Whitethroats, two Whitethroats, several Chiffchaffs and Skylarks all heard singing, and a Curlew heard calling. Cleeve Hill    At Wardens’ Wood this morning two Blackcaps, two Willow Warblers, four Chiffchaffs, a Yellowhammer, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Buzzard, a Linnet, a Whitethroat and three Skylarks. (Cottia Howard).

Forest of Dean     At Nagshead today four Pied Flycatchers, two Redstarts, five Treecreepers, four Nuthatches, two Goldcrests, six Blackcaps, a Grey Wagtail, two Coal Tits, a Mistle Thrush, three Song Thrushes, two Mallard and a Goshawk briefly calling. (John Fletcher).
