Longlevens     Belated news of a juvenile TURTLE DOVE in a private garden for most of the day yesterday (19th) but no sign today. (per Jim Northcott).

Saul Warth     At dawn high tide the Dark-bellied Brent Goose still, 30 Wigeon flew S, three Lapwings flew N, 67 Curlews, six Redshanks, a Common Sandpiper, a Fieldfare, a Chiffchaff, a Stonechat and six Reed Buntings. 28 Cattle Egrets opposite the parking at the Fretherne end of Hock Ditch across the road in the field with with brown cows at 9:45am. Cleeve Hill     A Short-eared Owl hunting near the pylons this morning.

Tresham     At least 50 Golden Plovers, 17 Lapwings, four Red Kites, six Red-legged Partridges, two Corn Buntings and a Little Owl this morning. (Paul Rich).

Maisemore    At the River Leadon flood near Maisemore birds included two Shelducks, four Gadwalls, two Shovelers, 52 Teal, 15 Mallards, a female Goosander, a Grey Heron, a Great White Egret, a female Sparrowhawk, three Chiffchaffs, four Blackcaps, a pair of Stonechat and 53 Pied Wagtails. Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning viewed from the northern Apperley side due to flooding 74 Wigeon, 300 Teal, 20 Mallards, 24 Pintails and ten Fieldfares. (Mike Smart).

Saul Warth     At high tide at dawn in icy conditions a close Dark-bellied Brent Goose until 11am at least, seven Shelducks, seven Lapwings, 90 Curlews, 100 Dunlins, four Fieldfares, a Chiffchaff and a Little Egret and 11 more opposite Dunstalls Farm on the Arlingham Road. (MK).

Newnham-on-Severn     A first-winter LITTLE GULL flew down river at 11:50am. (Dan Watson).

Gloucester     The male BLACK REDSTART again early morning at Manu Marble Way in Linden. (per MK).

WWT Slimbridge     Five Little Stints on the Tack Piece this morning with c400 Dunlin roosting nearby. At least eight White-fronted Geese and 19 Bewick’s Swans have been in and out through the morning. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Stonehouse     Along the canal from Ryeford to Bond’s Mill this afternoon male and female Kingfishers, three Cormorants, a Grey Heron, a Grey Wagtail and two Great Spotted Woodpeckers. (Paul Sutton).

WWT Slimbridge    On the Tack Piece 40 White-fronted Geese, 19 Bewick’s Swans and the Pink-footed Goose of unknown origin. Also a Water Rail at Willow hide, a Marsh Harrier over Tack Piece and two more over the Top New Piece and the BITTERN briefly from Zeiss hide. (Slimbridge Sightings/Paul Clark). Two Sanderlings with the Dunlin flock on the Tack Piece, four Sanderlings on the estuary, a Little Stint on the Dumbles and two on the Tack Piece. (Ian Ralphs).

Berkeley     On the flooded meadows next to the bypass at 3:15 pm two Bewick’s Swans taking off in a north-easterly direction. (Hinton Birder).

Saul Warth     At dawn high tide 18 Shelducks, 12 Stock Doves, 125 Curlews, 20 Dunlins, two Redshanks, a Tawny Owl calling, three Kestrels, eight Fieldfares, a Mistle Thrush, four Meadow Pipits, three Chiffchaffs and a Roe Deer. 20+ Cattle Egrets opposite Dunstalls Farm on the Arlingham Road. Forest of Dean     Around Crabtree Hill this morning five Goosanders on Woorgreens Lake, two Green Woodpecker, small flock Lesser Redpolls and two flyover Crossbills. (Geoff Fawcett).

Elmore Court    In the rewilding area late afternoon to dusk a pair of Mute Swans, seven Teal, nine Snipe, two Grey Herons, a male Sparrowhawk, three Buzzards, three Kestrels, a Peregrine, a Barn Owl, a Green Woodpecker, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 18 Skylarks, a Yellowhammer, and a least ten each of Stonechats, Meadow Pipits and Reed Buntings. Gloucester     At Horsbere this morning nine Teal, a calling Water Rail, five Moorhens, seven Snipe, a Cormorant, a Buzzard, a Kestrel, two Cetti’s Warblers (1 ringed), two Chiffchaffs, at least a pair of Stonechats, a Grey Wagtail and four Reed Buntings. WWT Slimbridge     Winter geese and swan arrivals slowly increasing, now 28 White-fronted Geese and 13 Bewick’s Swans today. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Saul Warth     Early morning  post-tide 48 Shelducks, ten Wigeon, 160 Curlews, 30 Dunlins, 55 Lapwings, three Common Sandpipers, seven Grey Herons, a Little Egret, a Kestrel, two Marsh Harriers, two Fieldfares, two Mistle Thrushes, five Meadow Pipits, two Chiffchaffs, a Greenfinch (2nd this year) and six Reed Buntings. Newnham-on-Severn    6-8 Ring-necked Parakeets from the car park overlooking the river, then flew towards the Silver Fox café. 200+ Common Gulls roosting on the mud. (Alan Baxter).

Cobney Meadows/Wainlode     From Wainlode Hill 20+ Chaffinches, 10+ Greenfinches, 50+ Linnets, two Redpolls, 100+ Meadow Pipits, two Ravens and 500+ Woodpigeons. From the Red Lion and River Chelt at Wainlode 50+ Linnets, 20+ Goldfinches, 6+ Stonechats, 20+ Meadow Pipits and a BLACK REDSTART in the Red Lion car park. On floods 400+ Wigeon, 100+ Mallards, 50+ Pintails, 20+ Mute Swans, two Tufted Ducks and a Shelduck. A MERLIN flew low down Wainlode Lane on Sunday. (Shaun Curtis).

Chavenage Lane area     Two Woodcocks, two Lapwings, three Red Kites and four Stonechats today. (Terry Grant).

Gloucester    Around Alney Island this morning a Water Rail heard, a Snipe, a Kestrel, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, two Cetti’s Warblers, 13 Chiffchaffs, six Blackcaps, three Stonechats, a Redpoll, six Siskins and a Reed Bunting. (Andy Jayne).

Coombe Hill Meadows     The canal paths from the car park are OK with wellies to the Snipe Pool entrance, then waders are needed, the northern meadows are flooded and Grundon hide is inaccessible again. During a brief visit a Buzzard, a Kestrel, six Meadow Pipits, ten Pied Wagtails, two male Bullfinches, a male Blackcap, 11 Teal, a Wigeon and 6+ Fieldfares. (Paul Clark).

Maisemore     This afternoon two Cormorants, seven Mallards, two Grey Herons, five Moorhens, 33 Fieldfares, two Redwings, five Chaffinches, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Song Thrush, two Stock Doves, 16 Jackdaws, two Buzzards, two Wrens, 20 Goldfinches and two Mute Swans. (John Fletcher).

Tewkesbury    At Mythe Hook early afternoon 150 Canada Geese, six Wigeon, 60 Mallards and five Lapwings. (Mike Smart).

Frampton pools     A RICHARD’S PIPIT flew over low calling heading SE at 9:30am. This evening 51 Cattle Egrets, three Great White Egrets and 31 Little Egrets roosted at Court Lake. Around the pools two Bramblings, three Siskins, five Chiffchaffs, 31 Redwings, three Fieldfares, three Mistle Thrushes, 50 Tufted Ducks, five Gadwalls, a Shoveler, two Pochards, 220 Coots, 44 Cormorants and a Yellow-legged Gull. WWT Slimbridge     A first-winter CURLEW SANDPIPER on the Tack Piece and the first three BEWICK’S SWANS of the winter. Also a Little Stint, a Spotted Redshank and two Marsh Harriers. Cotswold Water Park East     The escaped Scarlet Ibis again in flooded fields adjacent to Pit 114. It has been present in the east of the County since August 2024 at least. (Duncan Dine).

Nailsworth     From the garden in Walkley Wood/Shortwood today six Ravens together mid morning, 35 Siskins, five Redpolls, two Red Kites, four Buzzards, two Sparrowhawks, two Marsh Tits, male and female Blackcap, a Chiffchaff and 50+ Redwings in to roost. (Jon Haw).

Stonehouse     In the Bond’s Mill area late afternoon a Kingfisher near Nutshell Bridge, three Cormorants at the Ocean, a Red Kite very high over St Cyr’s church drifting NW towards Doverow Hill, two more Cormorants at Bond’s Mill, two Jays and a Chiffchaff. (Paul Sutton).

Tresham     A late Wheatear feeding in the field on the right just before the barn as you drive towards the village. From the gate in the hedge it was not very far from the wall, and c30-40 yards from the piles of soil and rubbish at the rear of the barns. Also four Red Kites and many Skylarks. (Terry Grant).

Chavenage Lane area     300+ Skylarks, 16 Corn Buntings, six Red Kites and four Stonechats today. (Terry Grant).

WWT Slimbridge     A male MERLIN from the Estuary Tower at 2:40pm flew low carrying prey towards Zeiss hide. Also around the Trust today up to 2000 Golden Plovers, 1000 Dunlins, 25 Black-tailed Godwits, ten Snipe, ten Ruff, 44 Redshanks, a Spotted Redshank, a Green Sandpiper, two Marsh Harriers, a Sparrowhawk, a Peregrine, 4+ Chiffchaffs and a Blackcap. Gloucester     Yesterday the male BLACK REDSTART returned to Manu Marble Way in Linden. (per MK).

Cotswold Water Park East    A Marsh Harrier flew by the River Coln/Pit 104 this afternoon. Two Great White Egrets have been present on the River Coln with Cattle Egret and Little Egret during the past few months and two Kingfishers. (Jonathan Stebbing).
