Frampton pools     At lunchtime a SIBERIAN CHIFFCHAFF, three Chiffchaffs, a Reed Bunting, the adult Yellow-legged Gull, a Great White Egret, 46 Shovelers, 24 Wigeon and six male Pochards. (Nick Goatman).

WWT Slimbridge     The juvenile SPOONBILL still on South Lake this morning. Also 12 Avocets. Two Water Rails at Willow hide. The Little Stint still on the Dumbles and 54 Bewick’s Swans today. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Forest of Dean     Two Dippers at Cannop ponds and two Marsh Tits at the feeders, also four Treecreepers and four Ravens. At Woorgreens 12 Crossbills, six Siskins and four Bullfinches feeding in the trees next to the lake. Seven Goosanders (3m, 4 redheads), two Cormorants and a Grey Heron on the lake. Leadon Meadows, Maisemore     Two Mute Swans, 15 Shelducks, three Wigeon, 15 Mallards, a Little Egret, five Common Gulls, a Little Owl in pollarded willows along the Leadon and 50 Goldfinches today. (Mike Smart).

Maisemore Ham     15 Mallards, a male Tufted Duck, three Cormorants, a Little Grebe, three Coots, a Buzzard, seven Long-tailed Tits and a Raven. (Mike Smart).

Minsterworth Ham     Two Mute Swans, five Mallards, three Grey Herons, 60 Golden Plovers, 150 Lapwings, five Snipe, a Green Sandpiper, 15 Skylarks and two Meadow Pipits. (Mike Smart).

Prestbury     A male Goosander flew over Noverton Farm at 10:48am heading south. (Ken Heron).

WWT Slimbridge     The juvenile SPOONBILL still on South Lake this morning. Also 12 Avocets and a Great Crested Grebe. The Little Stint and a Ringed Plover on the Dumbles. The Coal Tit still on feeders at Kingfisher hide, a scarce bird for the site. A Water Rail from Willow hide. 46 Bewick’s Swans and 34 White-fronted Geese today. Forest of Dean     At Cannop ponds three Goosanders on lower pond (1m, 2f), on upper pond, numerous Mallards, Mandarins, ten Tufted Ducks, three Little Grebes, two Ravens and a Grey Wagtail. (Alan Waterman).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Viewed from the northern (Apperley) side. The water is right up to the carpark (though not very deep at the Wharf), but there is no hope of reaching the Grundon hide for many days yet (the floodwater is just below the floor level of the hide). Birds included two Mute Swans, 175 Canada Geese, c2000 Wigeon, c1000 Teal, 50 Mallards, 145+ Pintails, 50+ Shovelers, 55 Tufted Ducks, 3+ Coots, three Pied Wagtails, 20 Fieldfares and 20 Redwings. Sharpness     A GREAT NORTHERN DIVER at high tide late morning, but did not come up on the tide and headed back south after an hour. (Paul Rich).

Stonehouse     A Kingfisher mid morning continually diving for fish at the Ocean. (Vic Polley).

Saul Warth     At high tide 136+ Pintails, seven Shelducks, 51 Curlews, seven Lapwings flew S, 50 Dunlins, a Kestrel, a pale Buzzard, ten Redwings, 50 Fieldfares, a Song Thrush, two Mistle Thrushes, six Meadow Pipits, a pair of Ravens and a Chiffchaff. (MK).

Gloucester     Early morning a female Peregrine on the Cathedral tower calling and making brief flights. (Steve Brown).

Hawling     Six Corn Buntings, one singing and 50 Linnets c100m E of Southfield Farm. (Steve Brown).

Chavenage Lane area     At the car park behind the Wildlife Community shop four Goldfinches, four Blue Tits, two Great Tits, four Collared Doves, a Robin and a Linnet in the hedgerow. Two fields over 3000+ corvids flying over the maize harvest. (Mil Petkovic).

Stinchcombe Hill     A Woodcock flushed below the car park. Also six Bullfinches. (Terry Fenton).

Stonehouse    Two Red Kites circled over the Paper Bag mills then drifted low over the houses at Bridgend to Upper Mills then circled quite low over Wycliffe grounds at 1pm. 2 Male Kingfishers have been around all week. Also a Grey Heron at the Ocean. (Paul Sutton).

Stroud     At Bowbridge this afternoon a Kingfisher, a Water Rail and five Mandarins.  (Paul Sutton).
