Lydney     Late news for yesterday afternoon, a male HEN HARRIER over fields and the embankment S of Harbour Lane then flew E over the estuary. Also a very late SWALLOW. (Matt Griffiths).

Sharpness     From the picnic area on this morning’s rising tide a female COMMON SCOTER flew down river and then came back up on the tide. Also two Common Sandpipers, two Grey Herons, a Rock Pipit, two Curlews, 18 Redshanks, a Kestrel and a Peregrine. (Steve Rickard).

Epney     At 12:30pm, close to DC Merrett industrial estate a male Stonechat feeding at the far end of the field, a Red Kite circling overhead and a Grey Heron flew N. (Mil Petkovic).

Framilode     At the church at 1pm eight Fieldfares flew from the riverbank towards the church and two Grey Herons, one on the far bank of the river, the other flew N. (Mil Petkovic).

Arlingham     At 2pm two Reed Buntings feeding on reed heads close to Passage House, two Grey Herons and a Kestrel, hunting from tree tops and attempted a kill.  (Mil Petkovic).

Staverton     A Buzzard harassed by a Carrion Crow for c5 minutes above Gloucestershire Airport today. (Roger Wasley).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Four KITTIWAKES grounded in the murk/snow briefly from the hide at 10:10am, then flew S at 10:20am. (Ian Hull). In bleak conditions birds also included 80 Shovelers, 45 Pintails, eight Tufted Ducks, a Water Rail, a Little Grebe, a Woodcock near The Leigh, 20 Snipe, 11 Cattle Egrets, three Little Egrets, a Sparrowhawk and a Kingfisher. Severn Hams     Late news for Saturday morning, a very late juvenile OSPREY flew S following the River Severn between the Red Lion and Ashleworth flood gates. Two Goosanders, four Mandarins, a Kestrel and a Woodcock at Ashleworth and Hasfield Hams. (Robin Lewis).

Moreton-in-Marsh     Late news for Saturday morning, a very vocal Ring-necked Parakeet flew over the garden. (Mark Bonner).

WWT Slimbridge     From Estuary Tower at high tide three female/immature COMMON SCOTERS floating off the Dumbles. The immature SPOONBILL was on the foreshore. A RED-BREASTED MERGANSER flew upriver. Guscar Rocks/Aylburton Warth     This morning on the WeBS count 12 Shelducks, 70 Wigeon, 50 Teal, five Mallards, 11 Grey Herons, 180 Lapwings, 50 Dunlins, a Snipe, 236 Curlews, 51 Redshanks, 290 Black-headed Gulls, five Herring Gulls, three Common Gulls, 15 Skylarks and ten Meadow Pipits. Chavenage Lane     1000+ Redwings and 220+ Fieldfares feeding in fields, two Red Kites and two Stonechats. A large mixed flock of the thrushes flew off  WNW. (Terry Grant).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This afternoon 50+ Greylags, three Canada Geese, five Egyptian Geese, three Mute Swans, 100+ Shovelers, 100+ Pintails, 100+ Wigeon, 40+ Teal, 50+ Mallards, 12 Lapwings, 35 Snipe, three Little Egrets, a Great White Egret, three Grey Herons, a Marsh Harrier and a Sparrowhawk took a Snipe. Berkeley shore    No sign of the Snow Bunting between dawn and 10am from the beginning of the seawall at the power station to the end of the wall S of Severn House farm. Gloucester     Late morning at Hempsted a Cormorant, a Buzzard, a Kestrel, a Green Woodpecker, a Chiffchaff in the plantation at Sudmeadow, a female Stonechat along the Severn Way and a pair of Ravens at GLS. (Gord Avery).

Halmore      A male Hawfinch in a private mixed wood this morning, a patch tick. Also two Buzzards, a hunting Sparrowhawk, four Ravens, a Greenfinch, c20 Redwings with some Fieldfares, a Nuthatch and a Treecreeper. This evening at dusk a Barn Owl hunting a paddock on Halmore Lane. (Chris Newton).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning from dawn eight Mute Swans, 250 Canada Geese, 200 Greylags, 24 Egyptian Geese, 40 Pintails, 180 Mallards, 61 Shovelers, 200 Wigeon, 500 Teal, eight Gadwalls, four Tufted Ducks, 50 Lapwings, 22 Snipe, two Great Black-backed Gulls, five Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 70 Herring Gulls, 50 Black-headed Gulls, a Great White Egret, 12 Little Egrets, 14 Cattle Egrets, a BITTERN flew in before dawn and disappeared into the main drain just left of the Grundon hide, three Coots, two Moorhens, seven Water Rails, a female/juv Marsh Harrier, a male Peregrine, six Reed Buntings, a Kingfisher, a Cormorant, at least 8 Chiffchaff including two birds singing. Purton    No sign of the Common Scoter at by the timber ponds but at 1:05pm a RICHARD’S PIPIT flew over calling frequently in the direction of the ships graveyard where it may have landed but not subsequently relocated. Also a large number of Fieldfares and Redwings flew west. (Terry Grant).
