Purton    No sign of the Common Scoter at by the timber ponds but at 1:05pm a RICHARD’S PIPIT flew over calling frequently in the direction of the ships graveyard where it may have landed but not subsequently relocated. Also a large number of Fieldfares and Redwings flew west. (Terry Grant).

WWT Slimbridge     The WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER from Zeiss hide today and later on the Tack Piece. (Gordon Youdale/Slimbridge Sightings). The immature SPOONBILL was on South Lake early afternoon, it flew there from the estuary late morning. WWT Slimbridge     Late news of a male BEARDED TIT in the pond zone yesterday photographed by Matt Fletcher. This morning a male BEARDED TIT showed twice in the reedbed from Knott hide calling both times at 10:40am and again at 10:50am. (MK). Despite good coverage throughout the afternoon it didn’t show again although it wasn’t seen to fly off. A FIRECREST showed well from the Estuary Tower at 11am with two Cetti’s Warblers. (Paul Masters). The drake GREEN-WINGED TEAL was on the scrape in front of the Tower for much of the day. (Martin McGill). This afternoon a WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER was on the Dumbles but distant again. Shepherds Patch, Slimbridge      The drake COMMON SCOTER (3rd day) on the canal between patch bridge and Purton all day again attracting a steady stream of admirers. Nearer to Purton for most of the day. (Ken Hurcombe et al).

Sharpness    At 10:20am the male BLACK REDSTART on the ships masts. Also a flock of Greylags distantly flew N with 1-5 White-fronted Geese with them, four Reed Buntings, 30 Linnets, Wigeon and Peregrine. (Oliver Paisey).

Tewkesbury     This morning along Rudgeway Lane just East of the Wheatpieces estate a Water Rail and a Snipe. On Wednesday 6th a Barn Owl in the evening flew across the A38 between the Odessa pub and the Swan Inn. (Pete Long).

Standish Woods     A Woodcock flew from leaf litter under a holly tree near the Randwick Long Barrow at 3:30pm today. 200+ corvids (Jackdaws and Rooks) gathered in the fields below the south car park at 4:30pm. (Jon Dexter).
