WWT Slimbridge     Late news of a male BEARDED TIT in the pond zone yesterday photographed by Matt Fletcher. This morning a male BEARDED TIT showed twice in the reedbed from Knott hide calling both times at 10:40am and again at 10:50am. (MK). Despite good coverage throughout the afternoon it didn’t show again although it wasn’t seen to fly off. A FIRECREST showed well from the Estuary Tower at 11am with two Cetti’s Warblers. (Paul Masters). The drake GREEN-WINGED TEAL was on the scrape in front of the Tower for much of the day. (Martin McGill). This afternoon a WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER was on the Dumbles but distant again. Purton     The drake COMMON SCOTER on the canal by the timber ponds today until 3pm at least. Also two Little Grebes, four Water Rails heard, a juvenile Goshawk, a male Kestrel, five Cetti’s Warblers heard, four Chiffchaffs, a pair of Stonechats and two Lesser Redpolls. Sharpness     The male BLACK REDSTART at the docks again today. (Andy Jayne).

Saul Warth     This morning the male Wheatear still, a Treecreeper (3rd patch record), 14 Meadow Pipits, six Redwings, three Fieldfares, two Mistle Thrushes, three Chiffchaffs and nine Egyptian Geese flew NW. (MK).

Shab Hill     Two Red Kites, a Buzzard, 14 Golden Plovers, ten Fieldfares over SW and a Raven. (Gordon Avery).

Witcombe Reservoirs     Seven Mute Swans, 273+ Mallards, 12 Tufted Ducks, six Cormorants, a Grey Heron, two Little Grebes, three Great Crested Grebes, six Moorhens, three Coots, 70 Black-headed Gulls, six Common Gulls, 22 Herring Gulls and a Green Woodpecker. (Gordon Avery).

Bentham     Seven Mallards, ten Coots, two Little Grebes, a Green Woodpecker, a Grey Wagtail and two Pied Wagtails. (Gordon Avery).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This afternoon/evening 20+ Pintails, 25+ Tufted Ducks, ten Little Grebes, three Cormorants, a Great White Egret, 15+ Egyptian Geese, a Little Egret, two Grey Herons, a Buzzard, a Red Kite, a Sparrowhawk, 123 Lapwings, a Redshank, six Long-tailed Tits, two Bullfinches and 20+ Snipe.
