Berkeley shore    At high tide 30+ Turnstones, 30 Dunlins, ten Redshanks, a Common Sandpiper and two Rock Pipits N of Severn House Farm today. (Shane Long/Paul Rich).

WWT Slimbridge     On the Rushy two WHOOPER SWANS and at least 70 Bewick’s Swans this morning. Two Little Stints and a Ringed Plover on the Estuary Tower scrape again. 100 Russian White-fronted Geese on the Tack Piece. On South Lake the SPOONBILL, ten Avocets and an Oystercatcher. Forest of Dean     Three male Hawfinches at Crown Lane, Parkend, feeding on the ground under yew trees with a Nuthatch, a Robin and a pair of Chaffinches at 2:20pm. (Megan Thornbury).

Halmore     In the woods today birds included five Mistle Thrushes, two Song Thrushes, a flock of c25 Fieldfares, six Redwings, a Nuthatch, a Green Woodpecker, four Great Spotted Woodpeckers, drumming heard, a Chiffchaff, c8 Long-Tailed Tits, two Ravens, two Buzzards and a Sparrowhawk. Swell Wold (W of Lower Swell)     Two Red Kites, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, two calling Stock Doves, three singing Skylarks, two Mistle Thrushes, three Song Thrushes, three Fieldfares, four Nuthatches and 40 Linnets. (Steve Brown).
