Saul Warth    Early morning 30 Avocets, 23 Curlews, six Oystercatchers, a Lapwing, 21 Shelducks, a distant Cattle Egret and a Little Egret, four Kestrels, two Green Woodpeckers, six Stock Doves, two Little Owls, a Willow Warbler, a Reed Warbler, two Chiffchaffs, a Whitethroat, a Blackcap, two Swallows and two Reed Buntings. At 6:20am a juvenile Peregrine circling over Saul Lodge calling loudly. (MK).

Frampton     A juvenile Cattle Egret with six Little Egrets and two Grey Herons in the field next to North Reedbed. On the foreshore, at least 40 Avocets, 50 Curlews, three Kestrels and a Hobby. (Terry Grant).

Aylburton Warth     Nine Shelducks, a female and eight juveniles, a Grey Heron, a Little Egret, a Peregrine chasing Black-headed Gulls, 250 Curlews, a Whimbrel and a Common Sandpiper. (Mike Smart).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning two Grey Herons, a Great White Egret, three Little Egrets, five Canada Geese, 20+ Lapwings, three House Martins, two Swallows, a Stonechat, a Skylark and a Buzzard. Also a WILLOW EMERALD damselfly today. (Paul Clark).

Painswick    1436 Swifts SW over the house between 7:30am and 7pm today. Also five Sand Martins and a Red Kite drifted N at 9:35am. (John Fleming).

Claypits area     Between Cambridge and Whitminster at least 500 Swifts over the fields beside the Bristol Road at 1pm. (Steve Pullen).

Bishops Cleeve   100+ Swifts to the west of the Bishops Cleeve football ground this evening. (Ken Heron).

Saul Warth     A SHORT-EARED OWL this evening. (Gordon Hodgson).

WWT Slimbridge    A female Teal with four ducklings on the Rushy, Lower Pond, a first breeding record for the reserve. Also the Spotted Redshank on the Tack Piece. (Martin McGill). Four Turnstones, two Dunlins, a Great White Egret, three Little Egrets, c50 Curlews and c200 Black-headed Gulls at Middle Point on the rising tide this morning. (Paul Masters).

Frampton pools     A White Stork, presumably the Docks bird, over the sailing lake at 2pm, then flew NE. The stork was probably on the River Severn at the front of Oldbury power station at the northern end on the mudflats distantly last night. (per John Riddiford). Also an adult Yellow-legged Gull, three Common Terns and a Lesser Whitethroat feeding young. (Nick Goatman). On Court Lake this afternoon 60+ Mute Swans, the Ross’s Goose with 60+ Barnacle Geese, three Little Egrets, two Little Grebes and three Great Crested Grebes. (MK).

Nailsworth     14 Swifts flew S between 5:20 and 5:30pm. (Terry Grant).

Frampton     A juvenile Cattle Egret with the cattle on Splatt flashes this morning. (Steve Pullen).

Saul Warth     This afternoon 83 Avocets, 40+ Curlews, 20+ Shelducks, an Oystercatcher, family party of 6+ Kestrels, two Little Egrets, four adult Great Black-backed Gulls, four Pied Wagtails, a Sand Martin, a Chiffchaff, a Whitethroat, six Long-tailed Tits and a pair of Ravens. (MK).

Nailsworth     Swift migration this morning, in two short watches totalling 30 minutes, recorded 57 birds moving south. This evening 80 Swifts south in 15 minutes. (Terry Grant). At Dunkirk Mill Ponds a female Mandarin, two Grey Herons and two Mute Swans this afternoon. (John Fletcher).

Forest of Dean    At Flaxley Woods a flock of 66 Mistle Thrushes. Also a Hobby, two Marsh Tits, a Spotted Flycatcher, four Treecreepers, a juvenile Hawfinch, eight Crossbills, and 10+ Siskins. Also two Golden-ringed Dragonflies near Flaxley Pool. (Andy Jayne).

WWT Slimbridge     From Middle Point 97 Dunlins, 12 Sanderlings, seven Ringed Plovers, an adult Turnstone, 53 Curlews, a Great White Egret and six Little Egrets today. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Ashleworth Ham     A Great White Egret (ringed AAR) on the waters edge late morning. (Les Ditchburn).

Nailsworth     46 Swifts and seven Swallows S this evening. (Terry Grant).

Calmsden A QUAIL calling at 5:15pm heard from the road at SP0460108881 in a field to the west. (Paul Masters).

Gloucester     A White Stork around the docks for over an hour late afternoon before eventually flying off south. It has a cable tie on it’s right leg, and is one of 20 free-flying storks from Wild Zoological Park, Bobbington, 46 miles as the stork flies. (Gord Avery).

WWT Slimbridge     The Spotted Redshank on the Rushy again and an adult and a juvenile Mediterranean Gull on South Lake. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Tresham     Late afternoon a Spotted Flycatcher, a Greenfinch, a Whitethroat, three Corn Buntings, two Stock Doves, a Red Kite and a hunting Marsh Harrier. (Paul Rich).

Frampton pools     Late evening 2+ Spotted Flycatchers, an adult Yellow-legged Gull, four Common Terns, a Lesser Whitethroat, three Whitethroats, eight Reed Warblers, 12 Swifts, 30+ Swallows, 10+ House Martins, five Sand Martins, two Kingfishers, 22 Black-headed Gulls and 9 juveniles, 83 Mute Swans, 115 Barnacle Geese, 24 Greylags and a Ross’s Goose. Guscar Rocks     At high tide this evening 301 Curlews came in, 13 rings read (mainly from 2010-2013 Wibdon catches plus one Herefordshire breeding bird, one breeding bird from Avon Valley). Also nine Dunlins, two Whimbrels and 40 Canada Geese. (Mike Smart).

Saul Warth     At high tide this morning 54 Shelducks, nine Mallards, an adult Mute Swan, four Little Egrets, 110+ Avocets, 87+ Curlews, eight Oystercatchers, seven Redshanks, 14 Black-tailed Godwits, 50 Dunlins, a Green Sandpiper, two Lapwings, two Kestrels, a Whitethroat, a male and a juvenile Reed Bunting. A Roe Deer swam 500m down the canal, a Kingfisher and a Jay. (MK). This morning at Hock Ditch and Cliff 4+ Kestrels, two Green Woodpeckers, two Reed Warblers and a Hobby. (Mike Davis).

Forest of Dean     At Nagshead today birds included two Garden Warblers, three Spotted Flycatchers, three Jays, five Blackcaps, 18+ Goldcrests, a Sparrowhawk, two Buzzards, two Nuthatches, three Ravens, three Chiffchaffs, three Stock Doves, a Swift, three Coal Tits, five Siskins and six Goldfinches. Cam     Two Dippers on the River Cam this afternoon between Cam and Dursley. (Mike Davis).

Ebley     On Doverow Hill this afternoon at least 12 Red Kites and at least five Buzzards feeding on two fields that were being cut for hay making. (Steve Kear).

Nailsworth     A Hobby and a small number of Swifts flew S this evening. A pair of food carrying Swifts appear to be feeding young still in the nest at Amberley. (Terry Grant).

Guscar Rocks/Aylburton Warth     WeBS count today 35 Canada Geese, 28 Mallards, three Grey Herons, four Oystercatchers, 425 Curlews, a Whimbrel, 5+ Redshanks, four Common Sandpipers, 201 Black-headed Gulls, a Common Gull, six Lesser Black-backed Gulls, ten Skylarks, a Yellow Wagtail, four singing Reed Warblers, at least 50 Carrion Crows and 50 Jackdaws and a singing Reed Bunting. Berkeley     This afternoon a Goshawk up on the ridge of Whitcliff Park, soaring then perched in a tree. (Tim Fell).

Berkeley shore     WeBS count today at high tide nine Common Sandpipers, a Greenshank, nine Redshanks, an Oystercatcher, two Ringed Plovers, 339 Black-headed Gulls, eight Ravens, adults and fledged young, 34 Pied Wagtails at the sports centre by the power station, 50+ House Martins, a Peregrine on the power station roof and a Stonechat with young in the Pill. Gloucester     A juvenile Grey  Heron and a Little Egret at the old Boating Lake, Westgate this morning. (Paul Clark).

Halmore     In the garden today birds included four Greenfinches including juveniles, a Jay, a Green Woodpecker, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, two Pied Wagtails and a Sparrowhawk. Three Swallows and a House Martin over. (Chris Newton).

WWT Slimbridge     A juvenile Goshawk from Kingfisher hide this morning. (Dot Jones).

Crickley Hill     This afternoon a family party of Spotted Flycatchers, a Kestrel calling and a Green Woodpecker. (Paul Masters).

Ashleworth Ham     The ringed Great White Egret (AAR) showed well at today from the roadside screen below the hide. (Chris & Phil Andrews). Also today two Greylags, three Mallards, six Teal, a Grey Heron and a Buzzard. (Mike Smart).

Walmore Common     A least six Whinchats this morning. (Steve Rickard).

WWT Slimbridge     This morning around the grounds a Great White Egret, seven Common Cranes, including two pairs each with a juvenile. At least 14 Little Egrets on the reserve and more on the river, 10+ Grey Herons, Reed Warblers, one with a juvenile, a juvenile Kingfisher, three Green Sandpipers, three Little Ringed Plovers, c50 Black-tailed Godwits from the Hogarth hide, a Kingfisher taking food to the nest bank at Kingfisher hide and a Little Grebe feeding a youngster. Also Common Darters, Emperors and Black-tailed Skimmers. (Paul Sutton). On South Lake 253 Black-tailed Godwit, a Spotted Redshank, three Ruff, six Redshanks, six Green Sandpipers and an Avocet. (Ian Hull). At Middle Point a brief Grasshopper Warbler reeling near the cross fence. (Tim Jukes).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Two Common Terns, an unringed Great White Egret, a Little Egret,  a Common Sandpiper and a juvenile Little Ringed Plover this morning. (Les Ditchburn).

Nailsworth     At least 1200 Swifts flew S and SSW down the Nailsworth Valley along with six early departure Swallow. Also seen a pair of food carrying Sparrowhawks, a Kestrel, a Red Kite and c12 Buzzards. (Terry Grant).

Painswick    2410 Swifts SW over the house between 1pm and 6pm today. Also a Hobby  flew S at 1:42pm. (John Fleming).

Winchcombe     This evening, 8+ Long-tailed Tits and 29 Swifts wheeling over the garden. (Andrew Worthington).

Ashleworth Ham     A ringing session this morning caught 41 birds including three Redstarts, two Sedge Warblers, ten Whitethroats, three Lesser Whitethroats, four Blackcaps, a Willow Warbler, a Chiffchaff, two juvenile Kingfishers, a Linnet and five Reed Buntings. Forest of Dean    Four Peregrines over Coleford this morning, two adults and two juveniles. (Geoff Fawcett).

Horsley    Three Red Kites and two Buzzards over where silaging is in progress near Horsley tip. (Tanya Allen).

Cheltenham     A probable Osprey, very high, flew S over Hatherley at 1:30pm today. (Dave Tomlin & Mary Harris).

Walmore Common     This evening nine Whinchats, at least three Stonechats and two Yellow Wagtails. (Andy Jayne).

Tresham     A Spotted Flycatcher, a Little Owl, an abundance of Skylarks, a few Corn Buntings and 8+ Swallows over the village. (Geoff Moyser).

Forest of Dean     Two Peregrines over Coleford, presumably an adult with a noisy youngster in pursuit. Three Common Sandpipers on the River Wye at Lydbrook. (Geoff Fawcett). A juvenile Buzzard mewling this afternoon SW of the Lydbrook valley. c20 Swifts circling this evening high above Forge Hill, Lydbrook. Also a Gatekeeper butterfly there. (Chris Sullivan).

WWT Slimbridge    From Kingfisher hide the pair of Kingfishers were busy taking fish to the nest hole. From the start of the Kingfisher Walkway a Treecreeper. From Robbie Garnett hide four juvenile Little Ringed Plovers. A Bittern was reported from Kingfisher hide. (Geoff Bryant). A Goshawk flew over South Lake at 12:20pm. (Warren Gill).

Stonehouse     Along the canal from Bridgend to Bond’s Mill a Migrant Hawker, lots of Emperors and Black-tailed Skimmers. A Sedge warbler at Hoffmann’s Dam and a Red Kite over Nutshell bridge for the 2nd day running. Also ten Swifts, 15 House Martins and eight Swallows together over the field below St Cyr’s church and all coming in to drink on the canal. (Paul Sutton). A Hobby through Stonehouse at 4pm this afternoon chased by Swifts. (Jon Dexter).

Frampton    Around the pools two Hobbies, a Spotted Flycatcher, three Common Sandpipers, three Grey Herons, four Little Egrets, three Oystercatchers, 16 Tufted Ducks, five Cormorants, 109 Barnacle Geese, 23 Greylags, 88 Mute Swans, three Canada Geese, a Kingfisher, four Common Terns and 14 Pied Wagtails. (Nick Goatman). From Splatt Bridge this morning a Kingfisher, a Grey Wagtail, a Grey Heron and eight Mute Swans (2 ads, 6 juvs) on the canal. Around the flashes lots of Reed Warblers and Reed Buntings, mainly juveniles, also a juvenile Kestrel and two Little Egrets and two Treecreepers and eight Greenfinches by the church. (Steve Pullen).
