Forest of Dean     A pair of Pied Flycatchers at Woorgreens today. Also a Cuckoo heard and a Wood Warbler. (Ben Locke/Jon Mercer). Pic by Ben.Pied Flycatcher 050516At Crabtree Hill a flyover LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER, a Goshawk, four Tree Pipits and three singing Siskins. (Jon Mercer).  At Nagshead a female Pied Flycatcher, a Hawfinch, three Redstarts (2m, 1f), a Grey Wagtail, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, three Garden Warblers, a male Sparrowhawk, 12+ Nuthatches, three Goldcrests, 10+ Blackcaps and a male Mandarin. Also a daytime Bat sp and a Wild Boar. At Tintern/Brockweir  23 Rook nests in the rookery at Tintern Parva on the Gloucestershire side of the River Wye.  Five Swifts at Brockweir where House Martins were actively rebuilding nests on the chapel. Coombe Hill Meadows     Two Greenshanks, a Ringed Plover, a Curlew calling and a brief singing Grasshopper Warbler. (Jon Mercer).

Ashleworth Ham    Two Mute Swans, two Greylags, nine Canada Geese, 11 Shelducks, four Teal, two Wigeon, 30+ Mallards, three Little Egrets, c10 Coots, three Lapwings, a Little Ringed Plover, Curlews heard bubbling towards Hasfield  and a Cuckoo heard. (Mike Smart).

Cotswold Water Park West     At Pit 43 early morning three Nightingales, a Cuckoo and an Oystercatcher over. At Pit 57 two Hobbies feeding early afternoon and c40 Common Terns feeding over Pit 41. Two BLACK TERNS at Pit 57 late afternoon and a male Redstart briefly on the Thames path by Pit 57.(Jon Mercer/Dave Soons).

Cleeve Hill     A Short-Eared Owl this evening hunting over the golf course, also four Wheatears. (Greg Mabbett). Earlier today a male Redstart, a Tree Pipit, a Willow Warbler, a Kestrel, three Buzzards, a Cuckoo, three Yellowhammers, Linnets, two pairs of Stonechats, Meadow Pipits and Skylarks. Also a Roebuck, an Adder, Seven spot Ladybirds, Peacock, Large Whites, Small Whites, Brimstones and an Orange Tip. (Chris & Phil Andrews). In Warden’s Wood by West Down car park today (E of Cleeve Common) a Tree Pipit, a Whitethroat, a Garden Warbler, a Blackcap, a Chiffchaff, a Willow
Warbler, a Bullfinch, a Raven and a Buzzard. Also Orange Tip, Speckled Wood and Peacock butterflies. (Keith White).

Saul Warth     This evening a Greenland Wheatear, 11 Little Egrets, a Cetti’s Warbler and an Oystercatcher. (MK).

Tirley Sandpits     Today nine Blackcaps, a Lesser Whitethroat, 10 +Whitethroats, four Chiffchaffs, 7+ Skylarks, eight Swallows, four House Martins, a Green Woodpecker, a male Wheatear, a Raven, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, three Stock Doves, a female Sparrowhawk and a Cuckoo. (Mark Grieve).

Bourton-on-the-Water     A Cuckoo calling over the Greystones Farm GWT reserve from late morning, later moving to Bourton North Pits. (Tom Beasley/Andy Lewis).

Stonehouse    Four Buzzards over Stanley Downton/Leonard Stanley 2:30-3pm today. Two Buzzards and a Red Kite over Bridgend at 5:30pm today. (Paul Sutton).
