Lydney New Grounds Along the foreshore this morning, three Common Sandpipers, three Curlews, a Little Egret, five Wheatears, two Buzzards and a Kestrel. (Steve Brown).
Symonds Yat From Yat Rock viewpoint today the resident Peregrine pair and a juvenile, a Goshawk, two Hobbies, a male and female Sparrowhawk, six Buzzards, Nuthatches, Coal Tits, four Ravens, two Swifts, House Martins and Swallows, six Linnets, Stock Doves. Other sightings included Common Blue, Holly Blue, Speckled Wood and Meadow Brown butterflies and a Hornet. (Chris & Phil Andrews).
Coombe Hill Meadows A Canada Goose, five Teal, four Shovelers, 70 Mallards, five Grey Herons, a Kestrel hunting, 20 Moorhens, 130 Lapwings, at least five Green Sandpipers, a Kingfisher along the canal, three immature Whinchats sitting in the uncut grass and lots of immature Chiffchaffs calling from the vegetation. Edge At Sevenleaze Lane at SO846106 an adult female Sparrowhawk, a Yellowhammer, three Blackcaps, a Bullfinch, a Goldcrest and five Spotted Flycatchers. (John Fletcher).
Forest of Dean At Blaize Bailey a female Sparrowhawk visiting the garden frequently but with little success, attracted by large flock of 30+ Goldfinches with numerous
