Frampton     A BITTERN flew to the top corner of the Blue Pool at the Sailing Lake at 11:10am but no further sign later. Around the pools the GREAT WHITE EGRET, 16+ Little Egrets, the adult Yellow-legged Gull, 23+ Cormorants, seven Wigeon, 95+ Tufted Ducks, a Pintail, three Green Sandpipers, nine Chiffchaffs, two Kingfishers, three Green Woodpeckers, a late Brimstone and a Fox. WWT Slimbridge     A juvenile SPOONBILL briefly over the grounds and the Rushy early afternoon. The GREAT WHITE EGRET on the estuary at 2pm. Two Dark-bellied Brent Geese with the Red-breasted Goose and the feral Barnacle Goose flock on the Bottom New Piece from Kingfisher hide. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Hempsted     First Redwing of the autumn at Netheridge Farm this morning, also a Reed Warbler and 3+ Chiffchaffs singing. (Mark Hobson).

Cotswold Water Park West     At Shorncote this evening three Little Egrets, three Green Sandpipers, two Snipe, two Water Rails, a Sparrowhawk, a Kingfisher, a Whinchat, two Stonechats, 25 Swallow and six Cetti’s Warblers. (Jon Mercer).

Cleeve Hill     This afternoon eight Stonechats, six Wheatears, four Kestrels, two Buzzards, 100+ Linnets, 6+ Skylarks and 20+ Meadow Pipits. (Dave Stone).

Symonds Yat     In the Yat Rock area today the Peregrine pair, a male Sparrowhawk, six Buzzards, Ravens, two Jays, a Mistle Thrush, Swallows and House Martins, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Goldcrest, a juvenile Grey Heron, nine Mandarins (3m, 6f) and a Little Egret. Other sightings included two Small Coppers mating, Large Whites, a Speckled Wood, and Red Admiral butterflies, two Hornets and a Bank Vole. Calcot     A Tawny Owl hooting at 9:30am, a Kestrel, 3 Buzzards, a Raven, a Green Woodpecker, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Yellowhammers and a family of Pied Wagtails. (Steve Brown).

Winstone     A Grey Partridge walking down the road at 6:40am. (Michael Cook).

Hardwicke     A female Sparrowhawk in an oak tree and two Red Kites high over Quadrant Way at 1:20pm, a Kingfisher on a balancing pond and at least three Hummingbird Hawkmoths feeding on Buddleia. (Michael Cook).

Coombe Hill Meadows     At dusk 120 Greylags came in to Long Pool at 7:10pm, 15 Teal, a Grey Heron, ten Moorhens, three Green Sandpipers, a Little Owl calling persistently from 6:35pm onwards and a Cetti’s Warbler singing from Long Pool. (Mike Smart).

Robinswood Hill     This evening 8+ Chiffchaffs, 10+ Long Tailed Tits and two Great Spotted Woodpeckers. (John Fletcher).
