Purton     A Grasshopper Warbler reeling near the Timber Ponds this evening. (Chris Newton). No sign between 10:20-11pm.

Sharpness     This morning a sub-adult SPOONBILL, a Tree Pipit, three Common Sandpipers and three Mandarins. (Andy Jordan).

Frampton pools     A juvenile Cuckoo, a GREAT WHITE EGRET, a Common Sandpiper, five Oystercatchers, a Hobby, a Water Rail with three full grown young and five Grey Herons. (Nick Goatman).

WWT Slimbridge     Birds today included six Ruff, 102 Curlews, 48 Dunlins, a juvenile Mediterranean Gull, a Hobby, a Cetti’s Warbler, 11 Little Egrets, a Kingfisher and three Little Ringed Plovers. (Tom Weston-McClung/Neil Smart/Jon Mercer).

Symonds Yat     From Yat Rock viewpoint the Peregrine pair, Buzzards, Ravens, a Jay, a Green Woodpecker, Long-tailed Tits, Swifts, Swallows, House and Sand Martins. Other sightings included Red Admiral, Small Tortoiseshell, Ringlet, Large White and Holly Blue butterflies, Rose Chafers and Hummingbird Hawk moths. Epney     A Red Kite over at midday. (Jeremy Squire).

Gloucester     A Red Kite high over Plock Court at 2:30pm. (Andy Jayne).

Tidenham     A Little Owl on wires beside the A48 near Tidenham. (Dan White).

Coombe Hill Meadows     Birds today included two immature Ravens, a Cormorant, a pair of Canada Geese with two large goslings, 17 Greylags, a male Wigeon in eclipse, two Shovelers, 3+ Teal, a female Gadwall with four  ducklings, 15 Grey Herons, three Little Egrets, two Kestrels, 140 Lapwings, a Snipe, four Oystercatchers, 8+ Green Sandpipers, three broods of Redshanks, a Little Ringed Plover, a Kingfisher, a Lesser Whitethroat, two Sedge Warblers, six Linnets and 100 Rooks. My name is Mike King and have lived all my life in Gloucestershire. I am happiest birding around Frampton but I especially love Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
