Coombe Hill Meadows This morning 21 Mute Swans, 15 Canada Geese plus a pair with five goslings, two Shelducks, a male Teal, a pair of Gadwalls, five Grey Herons, two Little Egrets, a pair of Oystercatchers, a Little Ringed Plover, c8 Lapwings, 2+ Redshanks, six Curlews roosting, a Cuckoo singing, two Reed Warblers, Sedge Warblers, a Whitethroat and a Reed Bunting singing. Longney In the old orchards and along the Severn Way and hedgerows this afternoon birds included five Willow Warblers, three Blackcaps, four Chiffchaffs, a Pied Wagtail carrying food, seven Greenfinches, two Song Thrushes, a male Reed Bunting, two Sedge Warblers, a Reed Warbler, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, a Cuckoo heard, a male Sparrowhawk, a Buzzard and two young Jackdaws calling out from a low tree hole in an old apple tree.
