Gloucester This evening at Castle Meads (West) two Mute Swans, three Canada Geese, two pairs of Coots, c20 Mallards and c80 hirundines were hawking for insects, roughly 60 House Martins and 20 Swallows. At Port Ham a Greylag, a Buzzard and two Ravens heading upstream with full crops. Around the Pool area a Green Woodpecker and a Blackcap heard and at least one Coot on the pool. Notgrove A Red Kite seeing off a female HEN HARRIER going N from Notgrove, crossing over the A436 Bourton-Andoversford road, and on towards Aylworth, the HEN HARRIER flew off E. (Graham Ruffles).
Cleeve Hill Five RING OUZELS flew from a hawthorn hedgerow halfway down the field to the beech copse adjacent to the common and then headed N across the common. Another RING OUZEL in a small hawthorn bush next to the main high path across the mast reserve. This dropped to the ground foraged and then flew N. Also a Cuckoo here. (Ian Coote).

Bussage A HOUSE MARTIN over the Toadsmoor Valley early this morning. At the larger lake a female Sparrowhawk hunting, two Chiffchaffs and a male Reed Bunting. In the woods, three Jays, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, two Nuthatches, two Chiffchaffs, 11 Long-tailed Tits, three Collared Doves, seven Wrens, a Treecreeper, three Siskins and a male Bullfinch.
