Forest of Dean     At Nagshead a male Pied Flycatcher, three Spotted Flycatchers, two Redstarts and a PINE MARTEN today. (John Hunt). 11 Swifts screaming low over Coleford near St John’s church. (Geoff Fawcett).

Chavenage Lane area     The QUAIL still calling from the meadow until 8:30pm at least. The turn is signed Chavenage off the A46. It is calling from the second meadow on the right as you go down the lane. Go past the layby with the iron gate and the best spot is in the next layby a little further on cST8477495707. Frampton     At Court Lake this afternoon six Hobbies high up, a Red Kite through N at 3:25pm, two Common Terns, a pair of Oystercatchers and the Ross’s Goose on Court Field. (MK).

Awre    Ten Sanderlings roosting on the seawall on this evening’s high-tide. (Andy Jayne).

Woodchester Park     Three Tawny Owls, a pair of Bullfinches, two Goldcrests, three Treecreepers, two Blackcaps, two pairs of Mandarins with young, five Goldfinches and a Great Spotted Woodpecker this morning. (Josh Adamms).

Winchcombe     West of Winchcombe in Langley Road a Whitethroat and a Greenfinch singing, four Swallows, six House Martins, a Swift, a flock of very young Long-tailed Tits, a Green Woodpecker heard and lots of Chiffchaffs singing. (Stuart Galey).

Longney     Birds today included two Oystercatchers, two Shelducks, 11 Mallards, 300+ Lesser Black-backed Gulls, two Sedge Warblers, a Chiffchaff, two House Martins and 12+ House Sparrows. (John Fletcher).

Gloucester     At Alney Island by Port Ham Sub Station/large pond a Treecreeper, a Cuckoo, a Sedge Warbler, a Willow Warbler, a Cetti’s Warbler, a Blackcap and a Chiffchaff. (Robert McAllister).
