WWT Slimbridge The white-spotted BLUETHROAT was again at Middle Point early morning only. Unfortunately it didn’t show again by early afternoon. Also a Peregrine over, a Grasshopper Warbler still at Middle Point, a Cuckoo calling, two GREAT WHITE EGRETS over and an eclipse male and two female GARGANEYS from Zeiss hide. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Ashleworth & Hasfield Hams Five Redstarts (2m, 2f, 1 juv), Whitethroats, Willow Warblers, Chiffchaffs, a Curlew bubbling, a pair of Lapwings and two chicks, Reed Buntings, Sedge Warblers and a reeling Grasshopper Warbler. (Richard Humphrey).
Coombe Hill Meadows Birds today included two GREAT WHITE EGRETS, four Little Egrets, a Grey Heron, a Sedge Warbler, a Willow Warbler, a Chiffchaff, a Whitethroat, a Reed Bunting, a Hobby catching a dragonfly, a Kingfisher, a Lapwing and a Cuckoo. Cotswold Water Park East At Whelford this afternoon at Pit 111b birds included ten Tufted Ducks, two Mute Swans, three Great Crested Grebes, three Gadwalls, 39 Cormorants, two Willow Warblers, two Garden Warblers, three Blackcaps and two Reed Buntings. At Pit 111a six Pochards (1 adult & 5 large juvs), eight Tufted Ducks, four Great Crested Grebes (2 juv), two Mute Swans and three Chiffchaffs. At Pit 111 seven Long-tailed Tits and 23 Black-headed Gulls. At Pit 126 two Oystercatchers, seven Tufted Ducks, two Great Crested Grebes, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and two Blackcaps. At Pit 127, 67 Greylags, 27 Canada Geese, 30 Tufted Ducks, three Red Crested Pochards, four Great Crested Grebes, 250+ Black-headed Gulls in a colony and two Blackcaps. (John Fletcher).
