Coombe Hill Meadows This afternoon three Whinchats, a Great White Egret and a Wheatear on hay bales near Snipe Pool. A few Sedge Warblers along the canal still. (Ian Hull). A female Kingfisher and juveniles fishing together this morning. (Sophie Harris).

Guscar Rocks 315 Curlews at high tide. 25 rings read, three head-started birds from Slimbridge 2019, one bird caught at Twyning in April 2021, one bird ringed on the Lugg in Herefordshire in April 2021. Also 20 birds from the catches at Wibdon near Chepstow between 2010 and 2013. All of them had previously been sighted this autumn, so new ones, but nice confirmation that they are staying put and showing site fidelity. Also a Whimbrel and a ten Yellow Wagtails. (Mike Smart).
