At Cannop Upper Pond this morning 16 Wigeon, eight Mandarins (5m, 3f), five Little Grebes, 12 Long-tailed Tits, two Jays, a Buzzard and two Nuthatches. (Chris Keeling). Also in this area a female Brambling with 25+ Chaffinches from the cycle path this morning. Also a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Marsh Tit, two Coal Tits and six Siskins. (Rob Emery). At Nagshead two Ravens, a mixed flock of c30 Siskins, Greenfinches and Goldfinches on Larch and a Wild Boar blocking the path to Lower hide. (Alan Waterman).

WWT Slimbridge     Five Dark-bellied Brent Geese with the Ross’s Goose from Estuary Tower, two Marsh Harriers from Zeiss hide, on South Lake six Cattle Egrets dropped in at 2:45pm, also a Little Stint here. (Tim Jukes/Ian Hull/Jonathan Bull).

Frampton     A redhead Goosander on the Sailing Lake in the SE corner at 11.50am. The Tawny Owl roosting in Court Field. (Sue Beynon). From Splatt Bridge this afternoon birds included a Cormorant, a Shelduck, a female Marsh Harrier, a Stonechat, Fieldfares and Redwings, a Grey Heron, a Curlew, a Song Thrush, 30+ Linnets, a Mute Swan, two Buzzards, a Wren and a Goldfinch. Coombe Hill Meadows    An adult Mute Swan, 40 Greylags, 178 Canada Geese, c1000 Wigeon, two Gadwalls, at least 400 Teal on the Short Pool, 60 Mallards, six Pintails, 51 Shovelers, a Tufted Duck, five Grey Herons, a Great White Egret, a Cormorant, a Water Rail squealing, 63 Lapwings, a Black-tailed Godwit, a Great Black-backed Gull, 150+ Fieldfares, c5 Redwings and a Reed Bunting.
