Forest of Dean     A Hawfinch and a male Brambling at Parkend Church today. (Merv Carlyon/John Salmon). A Woodcock flushed at Mitcheldean Meend. Around Wigpool Common two Crossbills and four Siskins over and a Muntjac. (Paul Masters). At New Fancy View four Goshawks, three Buzzards, a Peregrine, two Ravens and a pair of Bullfinches. At Parkend a Mistle Thrush. On Cannop top pond four Little Grebes, five Goosanders (1m, 4f) and on the bottom pond three Goosanders (1m, 2f) and a Grey Wagtail. (Martin Price). Berkeley shore     A Common Sandpiper in the Pill, a Jack Snipe behind the sea wall by the Pill, three Stonechats and 11 Oystercatchers feeding on the saltmarsh. (Geoff Moyser).

WWT Slimbridge   From the Zeiss and Van de Bovenkamp hides birds included a Red Kite, 200+ Black-tailed Godwits, 20+ Knot, 200+ Golden Plovers, 500+ Lapwings, 32+ Avocets, a Little Stint, two Snipe and a Little Egret. (Chris Newton/Jon Dexter). Male and female Peregrine, the Ross’s Goose and three Snow Geese on the Dumbles. Two Great White Egrets on the Tack Piece and two PINK-FOOTED GEESE with 180+ White-fronted Geese. (Jon Dexter/Ian Hull/MK).

Chavenage Lane     Two Red Kites, 9+ Buzzards, a female Goshawk, 1800+ Starlings, 600+ Fieldfares, 40+ Redwings, 70+ Chaffinches, 50+ Linnets and a Brambling today. (Terry Grant).

Cherington    At Cherington Lake and in the surrounding area early afternoon a Cormorant, a Grey Heron, two Buzzards and below the lake at two Dippers. (John Fletcher).

Gloucester     A summer-plumaged sinensis Cormorant at 1:15pm at Walham Pond by the by-pass at SO829201. (Gord Avery/Andy Jayne).

Cheltenham     On Pittville boating lake a Common Gull and a male Great Crested Grebe. The male Kingfisher is not showing very much at all and may have moved on. Lots of small bird activity in the park with regular sightings of Blackcap, Wren, Goldcrest, Goldfinch, Greenfinch and Jay. (Alan McIlquham).
