WWT Slimbridge The WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT gave brief showings between 8:20-9:30am on stick 1. Also two immature SPOONBILLS flew N, then a bit later back S, 15 Avocets, a Little Egret and a juvenile Cuckoo. On the fields by the estuary 80+ Curlews over high tide. Two summer plumaged Spotted Redshanks still on S Lake with a black, and a ginger, male Ruffs, 23 Redshanks, 104 Black-tailed Godwits, an Avocet, and a Little Ringed Plover. No sign this afternoon though but a Whimbrel with the Curlews. The Barn Owl hunting and seen perched from Kingfisher hide this morning. (Mike Davis).

Coombe Hill Meadows This morning at least six Grey Herons, eight Little Egrets, two Little Ringed Plovers with two chicks, four juvenile Redshanks, two juvenile Lapwings, a Little Grebe, two Avocets with three chicks and a Bullfinch along the canal. Also a pair of Mute Swans with seven cygnets, a Green Sandpiper, three Oystercatchers, eight Canada Geese, a Buzzard, a Whitethroat, a Chiffchaff, a Goldfinch, a Sedge Warbler, a Kingfisher by the car park, Swallows, six Swift and a House Martin. Gloucester At 3:45pm a Red Kite flew across Alney Island from Hempsted. At 4:05pm a Sparrowhawk flew across Stroud Road at St Paul’s. (Ian Elphick).
