Frampton pools     A Spotted Flycatcher, a Hobby, the first Tawny Owlet of the year, 22 Chiffchaffs, 26 Blackcaps, a Garden Warbler, three Whitethroats, two Cetti’s Warblers, 10+ Reed Warblers, a Cuckoo, a Shelduck and 20+Swifts today. (Nick Goatman/Paul Masters/Andy Chapman). Also at the sailing lake a Reed Bunting, a few Reed Warblers and four Common Terns. Also a Peregrine high over the Three Horseshoes pub at 4pm. Coombe Hill Meadows      A QUAIL calling intermittently from the scrape field this morning. (Ian Hull/Steve Brown). At midday it was calling very close to the concrete bridge. (Les Ditchburn).

Gloucester     A male BLACK REDSTART singing loudly from the rooftops in Gloucester city centre near The Cross at 10:30am. (Steve Pullen).

Saul Warth     Between 6:15-9am at high tide 40 Shelducks, a summer plumaged Grey Plover, 200+ Dunlins, 200+ Ringed Plovers, 7+ Sanderlings, a Whimbrel, six Curlews, four Oystercatchers, two Common Cranes, two Little Egrets, a Cuckoo heard, a Sand Martin, two House Martins, 30 Swallows, a Raven and a Meadow Pipit, scarce this spring. Ashleworth Ham     A CES ringing session caught 52 birds including three Redstarts, 16 Sedge Warblers, a Blackcap, nine Whitethroats, two Goldfinches and five Reed Buntings. Other birds in the area included six Mute Swans, 50 Greylags and a pair with four goslings, 30 Canada Geese, four Egyptian Geese, a pair of Shelducks with seven ducklings, two drake Gadwalls, 30 Mallards, a drake Pintail, two Grey Herons, three Coots, three Lapwings, a Cuckoo, 6+ Skylarks, five Sand Martins, a Redstart, four Sedge Warblers, six Whitethroat, a Lesser Whitethroat, two Chiffchaffs, a Raven and two Reed Buntings.
