Sunday 9th to Monday 17th August 2026 at Eastleach Downs the first-summer LONG-TAILED SHRIKE was present throughout along the minor road near https://maps.app.goo.gl/2DtRwdBHmTe3Wio89?g_st=iw . A good supporting cast of birds have been present, including these on the 11th, two Grey Partridges, three Corn  Buntings, four Whitethroats, a Lesser Whitethroat, four Stonechats, a Red Kite, a Buzzard, a Kestrel and two Ravens. Male and female Crossbill ringed at Staple Edge this morning. The female had a good brood patch so most likely still nesting. (Rob Husbands).

WWT Slimbridge     On the Rushy four Spotted Redshanks, a Green Sandpiper, a Ruff, four Black-tailed Godwits, a Snipe, a Kingfisher and a Little Grebe with two chicks. On the Safari 14 Yellow Wagtails, a Sedge Warbler family, a Whitethroat and a Clouded Yellow. By the Duck Decoy a Willow Emerald and three Brown Hawkers. (Stephen Curtis & Carol Rushton).

Tewkesbury     At Mythe Hook two pairs of Mute Swans with five and six large cygnets, 33 Canada Geese, 11 Egyptian Geese, 58 Mallards, an adult Tufted Duck with four ducklings, a Moorhen and five Black-headed Gulls. (Mike Smart & Shaun Curtis).

Guscar Rocks/Aylburton Warth     65 Canada Geese, three adult Shelducks and seven ducklings, 20 Mallards, seven Grey Herons, a Little Egret, two Buzzards, six Oystercatchers, two Dunlins, 532 Curlews in the roosts, a Whimbrel, a Common Sandpiper, seven Turnstones, 270 Black-headed Gulls, five Common Gulls, 180

Ashleworth Ham     A CES ringing session caught 66 birds including four Redstarts, four – Sedge Warblers, 19 Whitethroats, two Lesser Whitethroats, five Willow Warblers, a juvenile Kingfisher, four Stonechat, 15 Long-tailed Tits, a Bullfinch, a Goldfinch and three Reed Buntings. Other birds on the reserve included a Peregrine, 3+ Chiffchaffs and 3+ Ravens.
