WWT Slimbridge    This morning an adult LITTLE GULL, a 2cy Mediterranean Gull and a Little Ringed Plover on the Tack Piece. A drake Wigeon from Martin Smith hide. From Zeiss hide a distant WOOD SANDPIPER and a soggy, showy BITTERN until scared off by a female Marsh Harrier. Later two juvenile BITTERNS in the reeds below the Estuary Tower and an adult at Zeiss. A Kingfisher, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Cuckoo in the Decoy. 37 Black-tailed Godwits and 61 Avocets from Hogarth hide. (Ian Hull/MK/Paul Masters/Andy Chapman/Andy Jayne).

Forest of Dean    At Nagshead this morning birds included a Hawfinch, four Spotted Flycatchers, three Pied Flycatchers, two Redstarts, two Marsh Tits, a pair of Crossbills and a Sparrowhawk. Early afternoon at Symonds Yat rock a Peregrine, two Firecrests, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Red Kite and a few Hummingbird Hawk moths at the viewpoint. (Chris & Vicky Harper). At 6:45pm eight Ravens circling high over Forge Hill, Lydbrook. (Chris Sullivan).

Coombe Hill Meadows     At lunchtime birds included Redshank, Lapwing, Buzzard, Yellow Wagtail, Greenfinch, Chiffchaff, Cuckoo and Little Egret. Also newly fledged Redstart, Sedge Warblers, Whitethroats, Reed Buntings and Long-tailed Tits. (Paul Clark).

The Leigh & Norton Meadows     This morning five Redstarts including a pair feeding young, two juvenile Linnets, five Sedge Warblers, two Reed Warblers, 10+ Chiffchaffs, a Reed Bunting, a Buzzard, four Blackcaps, two Whitethroats, a Green Woodpecker and five Skylarks. (Shaun Curtis).
