Frampton pools     A Cattle Egret, four Little Egrets, a Marsh Harrier, an adult Yellow-legged Gull, four Wigeon, a Teal, seven Tufted Ducks, 35 Gadwalls, 84 Coots, six Little Grebes, 54 Mute Swans, three Cormorants, a Grey Wagtail and 20 Greylags today. (Nick Goatman).

Witcombe Reservoirs    100+ House Martins and Swallows and a few Sand Martins through this morning. A Common Sandpiper and a pair Teal on south reservoir. A Little Grebe on west reservoir. (Sam Walker).

Winchcombe     A substantial southerly movement of hirundines over between 10:45am and 11.15am. Mainly House Martins, just a few Swallows, must have been many hundreds of birds in total. (Peter Rodgers/Bob Shiret).

Upper Cam     A Hobby chasing a small group of Swallows over fields at 1:30pm. (Nigel Tucker).

Batsford Arboretum     This afternoon a Kestrel and a Jay at Seven Leys. (Andy & Sue Gibbons).

Charlton Kings     An OSPREY over following the edge of Leckhampton Hill and up Charlton Hill at midday. Also a Peregrine over. (Greg & Tom Mabbett).

WWT Slimbridge    27 ARCTIC TERNS flew past Middle Point at 3:12pm, dropping in on the sands just a little further north, also a Whimbrel and two Spotted Redshanks out on the estuary. (Ian Ralphs).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This morning between 6:30-8:15 two Cattle Egrets,  four Grey Herons, 34 Canada Geese, two Mute Swans, 89+ Teal, a Gadwall, ten Shovelers, 32 Mallards, 18 Lapwings, a Snipe, two Stock Doves, a Buzzard, Kingfisher at the Wharf, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, seven Swallows, two Chiffchaffs, a Bullfinch, 40-50 Goldfinches, two Cetti’s Warblers heard and a female Reed Bunting. Forest of Dean     At least a four Dippers this morning, one at Upper Cannop, two at Lower Cannop and one at Parkend. Lots of Mandarins, Tufted Ducks, 3+ Grey Wagtails, 2+ Little Grebes and a male Gadwall. (Mike Davis).

Guscar Rocks/Aylburton Warth     WeBS count today included five Teal, 7 Mallard. 6 Grey Herons; 2 Ringed Plovers, 1 Dunlin; 12 Knot; 1 Snipe; 2 Bar-tailed Godwits, 530 Curlews; 3 Common Sandpipers; 150 Black-headed Gulls; 1 Common Gull; 10 Herring Gulls; 10 Lesser Black-backed Gulls; 5 Skylarks; 20 Swallows (round the cattle); 10 Meadow Pipits; at least 5 Chiffchaffs in the hedges, with occasional burst of song; 2 Reed Buntings. Framilode/Epney     A first-summer CASPIAN GULL opposite Framilode Church at 9:45am, but pushed upstream by the tide to Epney where it showed well over the river S of The Anchor Inn. (Martin McGill). Elmore Court     At the Rewilding Project from the public footpath along Broadmeadow Bank Ditch birds today included 35 Lapwings, a fly-over Golden Plover, two Snipe, a Greenshank, two Green Sandpipers, two Ravens, a juvenile Hobby, a Kingfisher, 18 Mistle Thrushes and a Grey Wagtail. WWT Slimbridge     At Middle Point the male BLUETHROAT showed briefly on the sticks viewed from Shepherds Hut hide, for the first time since July 4th! Also two Garganeys and three Spotted Redshanks on the Rushy. Two more Garganeys from Kingfisher hide and two WOOD SANDPIPERS and 22 Ruff on the Top New Piece from Zeiss hide. (Slimbridge Sightings). An OSPREY over the afternoon safari, initially picked up very distantly circling in the Frampton direction before it headed low straight for the reserve.
