This is the 6th County record. There have been five previous Gloucestershire records, all in the Frampton–Slimbridge area of the Severn Estuary:
1976: one on November 14th.
1986: an adult on August 21st and 22nd, during an exceptional passage of shorebirds.
1988: an adult on 2nd October, thought to have been the same individual that had been in the Wiltshire section of the Cotswold Water Park for a few days previously.
2004: a moulting adult at the high-tide roost on August 15th, and a juvenile there on October 4th.
