WWT Slimbridge     A WHITE-TAILED EAGLE resting on the Severn off of the reserve at 7:40am but pushed off to Purton when the tidal wave passed. It then rested in Oaks viewable from Zeiss hide and Estuary Tower. It flew south at 11:15am and was lost to view over Sharpness at 11:30am. (Martin McGill). It was a tagged Isle of Wight bird and apparently spent the evening in the estuary according to its satellite tag. It is 22 months old and was released in 2022. (Info – Ian Hull). The juvenile PECTORAL SANDPIPER from Zeiss hide early then relocated to South Lake for a while. A BITTERN flew over the Decoy towards Long Ground at 12:45pm. (Slimbridge Sightings). A BITTERN from Zeiss hide at 12:20pm. (Les Ditchburn). A Wheatear along the Summer Walkway. (Duncan Dine). From Willow Hide a hunting female Sparrowhawk. From the Rushy, a Snipe and several Greenshanks. A Great White Egret on the Bottom New Piece. On the Top New Piece from Zeiss hide late afternoon three Marsh Harriers seen together hunting and on a bird carcase, and two adult Common Cranes with a juvenile. Frampton pools     An OSPREY still, a Hobby, the adult Yellow-legged Gull, six Little Egrets, 15 Swallows, three Sand Martins, eight House Martins, three Mistle Thrushes, 15 Gadwalls and a Willow Warbler today. (Nick Goatman).

Cleeve Hill     In the east section of the Common this afternoon a pair of Kestrels, a family of Stonechats and 70 Goldfinches. Also some Red Admiral migration. (Keith White).

Aylburton Common     A Hobby over the garden attempting to catch hirundines at 5pm today. (Martin Vaisey).

WWT Slimbridge     The PECTORAL SANDPIPER again today mainly from Zeiss hide but with a short visit to South Lake at lunchtime. The juvenile leucistic Marsh Harrier hunting over the Bottom New Piece today. (Slimbridge Sightings/Andy Jordan/Jeremy Holland).

Saul Warth     At high tide early morning seven Grey Herons, two Little Egrets, 60 Curlews, two Greenshanks, 21 Shelducks, two Buzzards, two Kestrels, a Whinchat, 20+ Goldfinches, a male Blackcap, five Chiffchaffs, two Reed Buntings, a Skylark, a Yellow Wagtail, a Grey Wagtail and 10+ Pied Wagtails. Alvington    Two Red Kites and a Hobby over Clanna Country Park today. (Paul Woolams).

Ashleworth Ham     A ringing session today caught 72 birds including five Blackcaps, ten Chiffchaff, 13 Long-tailed Tits, 27 Goldfinches, two Linnets, a Bullfinch and seven Reed Buntings. WWT Slimbridge     A PECTORAL SANDPIPER on the Top New Piece from Zeiss hide from 11:50am-3:50pm at least. (David Creber/John Budd/Martin McGill). Also a Green Sandpiper and c30 Ruffs. Three Garganeys, a Spotted Redshank, two Snipe and a Kingfisher on the Rushy. At least two White Wagtails with 8+ Pied Wagtails on the restaurant roof. (MK). At 3:50pm a Cattle Egret from Zeiss hide and a Hobby hunting dragonflies low over the central path in the grounds. (Tim McGrath). Winchcombe     At Hayles camping site and surrounding area birds included 15 House Martins, nine Linnets, seven Goldfinches, two Skylarks, two Nuthatches, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, five Canada Geese, two Greylags, three Moorhens, three Mallards, a Grey Heron, two Jays, two Ravens, three Kestrels, five Buzzards, four Red Kites and a Stoat. Elmore Court    At the Rewilding Project from the public footpath along Broadmeadow Bank at least four Whinchats with 6+ Stonechats just N of the scrape today. (Steve Pullen).

Frampton     At Court Lake early afternoon, an OSPREY briefly and a Cattle Egret. (Steve Pullen).

Nailsworth     20+ Buzzards and 15+ Red Kites, many of them taking advantage of harvesting operations, near Barton End this afternoon. Also in that area, and at Chavenage Lane, a juvenile Goshawk, three Kestrels, a Peregrine, a Sparrowhawk, a Whinchat, two male Stonechats, a Spotted Flycatcher and a 120+ Linnets. (Terry Grant).

A GANNET flew over fields on the SE side of Court Lake, towards the Severn at 6:30pm. Also an adult female Peregrine over Court Lake, three Cetti’s Warblers, four Jays, a Grey Wagtail, 15 Swallows and 25 House Martins. (Craig Brookes).

Saul Warth     This morning at low tide a Wheatear, a Reed Warbler and a Yellow Wagtail calling. Also 66 Curlews, three Grey Herons, a Little Egret, four Swallows, another 15 in the village on wires, seven Meadow Pipits, five Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, 15 Linnets, 12 Goldfinches, two Ravens, three Buzzards, a Kestrel and a Comma. Tresham     This evening a juvenile Ringed Plover feeding in a ploughed field. Also a Little Owl, four Yellowhammers, two Whitethroats, a Whinchat and a Green Woodpecker. (Paul Rich).

Hawling     Belated news of a TREE SPARROW on garden feeders late yesterday afternoon. (Sue Smith).

Leckhampton     Mid afternoon a Peregrine over Moorend Road, later presumably the same bird heard towards Leckhampton Hill then heard more distant still. Also two Ravens over. (Steve Brown).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This evening 80 Greylags, 24 Canada Geese, two Wigeon, 40 Teal, 60 Mallards, six Shovelers, six Grey Herons, two Little Egrets, six Great White Egrets, a Water Rail calling, 100 Swallows, ten House Martins, two Meadow Pipit, 20 Jackdaws and Goldfinches. (Mike Smart).

Gloucester     A Ring-necked Parakeet on bird feeders in the garden at Kingsholm, this morning. (Paul Clark).

Highnam     Along the the renovated Hereford-Gloucester canal eight Mute Swans, two Moorhens, two Cormorants, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a few Chiffchaffs and a hunting Sparrowhawk. (John Fletcher).

Frampton     An OSPREY over Court Lake at 6pm and a Garganey by the reed bed. (Nick Goatman).

Witcombe Reservoirs     An unconfirmed fisherman’s report of an OSPREY early afternoon. (per Rich Baatsen).

Painswick     Migration watch this morning at Cud Hill from 8am to midday. Birds flying SW included a Hobby, 385 Swallows, 216 House Martins, four Sand Martins, four Lesser Black-backed Gulls and a Common Gull. Two Red Kites drifted around at 9:30am, five Ravens and six Buzzards in the area. (John Fleming).

WWT Slimbridge    Three Garganeys this morning showing well from Martin Smith hide. Greenshank, Spotted Redshank, Green Sandpiper Redshank and Lapwings all seen on the scrapes and around the Tack Piece. (Neil Smart). Seven Greenshanks on the Rushy. (Tim McGrath). Hasfield Ham     An OSPREY again this morning on the river below Norton Hill on the Hasfield side. (Robin Lewis).

Ashleworth     An OSPREY over Ashleworth Quay area at 5:40pm then flew towards Ashleworth Ham and seemed to drop down near Stonebow Farm. Later seen perched up in a dead tree at Brawn End Ponds, Sandhurst briefly. (Andy Jayne).

Ablington     A grounded GANNET this afternoon was taken into care at Vale Wildlife Hospital, Beckford. (Richard Tyler).

Norton Hill     In the Sandhurst area today a Pied Flycatcher with two Spotted Flycatchers at SO842254 and an adult male Goshawk flushed off a Stock Dove kill on the lane by Abbot’s Lodge. A late Swift over Sandhurst Hill today. (Andy Jayne).

Saul Warth     This afternoon three Whinchats and two Wheatears along the rocks W of Hock Ditch. Also a Peregrine chasing Black-headed Gulls for fun before being chased by a Hobby, 92+ Shelducks, 28 Curlews, four Grey Herons, six Little Egrets, four Chiffchaffs, a Meadow Pipit, a Grey Wagtail and a Swallow. WWT Slimbridge    Two Garganeys and three Spotted Redshanks on the Rushy today. The leucistic Marsh Harrier flew along the sea wall showing briefly from the Zeiss hide. Chavenage Lane     This morning a Whinchat and at least six Willow Warblers. (Paul Rich).

Longney     At least four Whinchats and between the pill and Longney Crib. Also a first-winter Yellow-legged Gull and two Common Sandpipers. (Jeremy Squire).

Winchcombe    1000+ hirundines predominately Swallows and lesser numbers of House Martins in 15-20 minutes following the Cotswold Hill line this morning. (John Kime).
