Saul Warth     At high tide 65 Avocets, 55 Curlews, four Oystercatchers, four Redshanks, two Lapwings, three Grey Herons, two Little Egrets, 73 adult Shelducks and 26 ducklings, a Yellow Wagtail, two Swifts and a Raven. (MK).

Epney     An apparent intermedius Lesser Black-backed Gull at Epney opposite the Anchor at 4pm. (MK).

Cleeve Hill     Early morning a Grasshopper Warbler reeling, two singing Corn Buntings, a Tree Pipit, two pairs of Stonechats, a Willow Warbler, Yellowhammers, Linnets, Skylarks, Meadow Pipits and two Kestrels. (Tom Mabbett).

Elmore Court     At the rewilding area late morning viewed from Broadmeadow Bank, a male Kestrel caught a mouse near the scrape, three Buzzards, four Whitethroats, two Linnets, six Skylarks, a Sedge Warbler, eight Stock Doves and 40+ Swifts hawking high over the meadows. (Steve Pullen).

Stroud     At Fromebanks three Kingfishers, 2+ Grey Wagtails and a Dipper this morning on the River Frome. (Mike Davis).

Cam     A Little Owl early morning and again late afternoon in Woodend Lane. (Brian Kings).

Cotswolds     At Roel Hill Farm four Corn Buntings, two Yellowhammers, a Linnet, a Buzzard and a Stoat. At Guiting Power a family party of Great Spotted Woodpeckers, two Swifts, ten House Martins, two Nuthatches and a Raven. At Hawling Lodge, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, two Jays and a family party of Mistle Thrushes. In the general area a pair of Kestrels repeatedly bringing food to three juveniles and two Buzzards begging on a nest. (Steve Brown).

Highnam    Recent garden birds included three Greenfinches, a Nuthatch, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, six Goldfinches, a Blackcap, a Coal Tit, three Chaffinches, two Ravens, three Buzzards and a Red Kite over. (Clare McLeod).

WWT Slimbridge     The male WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT still at Middle Point today ranging as far as the Dumbles cross fence. (Jeanne Vitkovskis).

Hasfield Ham     This morning a reeling Grasshopper Warbler near to where the path forks. A QUAIL called once. Also heard a Yellow Wagtail, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and two Sedge Warblers and at least 20 Whitethroat, many juveniles. (David Lawrence).

Sherborne     A QUAIL calling, at noon just off the A40 at Sherborne. (Duncan Dine).

Stinchcombe     On the golf course two Spotted Flycatchers below the car park on the south side of the hill this afternoon. (Brian Kings).

Forest of Dean     A Garden Warbler singing strongly at the top of May Hill this morning. (Rob & Gillian Guest).

Winchcombe     Male and female Siskins, a male Great Spotted Woodpecker, at least four Long-tailed Tits, two Goldfinches, 5+ Swifts circling overhead and a Sparrowhawk low over the garden. (Gill Worthington).

Aylburton/Plusterwine/Alvington     Birds this morning included seven Swallows, 12 Curlews, two Oystercatchers, seven Shelducks, two Reed Warblers, three Blackcaps (2m, 1f), three Linnets, eight Swifts, an immature Buzzard, a Kestrel, 4+ Skylarks, a Reed Bunting, nine Goldfinches, two Moorhens, a Whitethroat and a Chiffchaff heard. WWT Slimbridge     The male WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT singing at Middle Point again today. (Oliver Paisey). An adult summer islandica race Black-tailed Godwit on South Lake this morning. (Duncan Dine). The summer-plumaged Spotted Redshank showing well on South Lake again today. (Slimbridge Sightings).

Saul Warth     At high tide early afternoon 50+ Avocets, 40+ Curlews, two Lapwings, a Redshank, two Dunlins, 100+ Shelducks, seven Oystercatchers, six Grey Herons, a Little Egret and a Mandarin flew S down the canal. (MK).

Frampton     A Kittiwake through the sailing lake heading towards the river at lunchtime. Also a Great White Egret, a Kingfisher, a Buzzard, a Great Crested Grebe with young, a Hobby, 80+ Swifts, 20+ Sand Martins, 20+ House Martins, 10+ Swallows and five Common Terns.  (Nick Goatman). Forest of Dean     From Yew Tree Brake Inclosure to Staple Edge Wood, include three Buzzards, two Swifts, two Garden Warblers, two Firecrests, eight Spotted Flycatchers, a pair of Stonechats, a Grey Wagtail, eight Tree Pipits, five Crossbills and ten Siskins. (Andy Jayne).

Cambridge/Coaley     A Little Owl calling along Elmcote Lane between Cambridge and Coaley. Also two Red Kites and two Buzzards. (Katharine Goatman).

Frampton     At Splatt flashes this morning two Grey Herons, two Little Egrets, six Tufted Ducks, a Redshank, c30 Avocets on the river, two Oystercatchers, a distant Cuckoo calling, three Swifts, 12+ Swallows, 20+ House Martins, two Sand Martins, 4+ Skylarks and a Raven calling. (MK).

Ashleworth Ham     At this morning’s ringing session birds caught included four Redstarts, five Whitethroats, three Lesser Whitethroats, four Blackcaps, eight Chiffchaffs, two Goldcrests, three Bullfinches and three Reed Buntings. On the reserve a Little Egret, two Yellow Wagtails, two Ravens and a singing Yellowhammer. Wotton-Under-Edge     At Cotswold Edge Golf Club this afternoon a pair of Canada Geese with three goslings, two pairs of Greylags and six goslings, three Mallards, a Red-legged Partridge, a Red Kite and a Swift. (Mike Tranter).

Frampton/Saul Warth/WWT Slimbridge     A GLOSSY IBIS at 6:55am seen by a local in the field by Frampton church. Then seen flying towards Saul Warth at 7:20am. (Steve Pullen). Relocated on the Warth at 8:20am, it circled around the Warth with three Grey Herons and three Little Egrets, then it flew S towards Splatt flashes at 8:30am. (MK). It returned to the Warth at 8:55am. (MK/Paul Masters). Then reported flying from the Tack Piece to the Rushy at 9:23am. (Slimbridge Sightings). The next report was at 2:45pm flying from Splatt towards WWT. (Chris Jones). Finally reported on the Tack Piece at 4pm in the far right channel in a small bay. (Dan Fletcher).

Also from Middle Point, a Fox with prey, probably a Moorhen and a female Roe Deer suckling two fawns. Three Great White Egrets and three Little Egrets on the Tack Piece. A female Tufted Duck with 11 ducklings on the Rushy. A paired colour-ringed Avocet with two chicks on the Rushy. Request for info sent. (MK/Ian Hull).

WWT Slimbridge     The male WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT singing at Middle Point again today and showing well. (Neil Smart/Martin Price).

Hasfield Ham     Early morning two reeling Grasshopper Warblers, one directly beneath pylon cables on the field boundary and another to the left of the lane heading to the river by fallen trees. (Jeremy Holland).

Saul Warth     At high tide 27 Avocets, 44 Curlews, 12 Oystercatchers, a Lapwing, five Ringed Plovers, 143 Shelducks, 112 adults and 31 ducklings, ten Great Black-backed Gulls, three Grey Herons, three Little Egrets and a male Marsh Harrier hunting the Warth, then flew over to Awre. (MK).

Nailsworth     A Hobby hawking for insects over the house at Walkley Wood at 1:30pm today. (Jon Haw).

Cam     A Dipper on the River Cam between Cam and Dursley this morning. (Mike Davis).

Daneway Banks     A Tree Pipit and a Redstart both singing, a vocal Red Kite, a Jay and around the immediate area Ravens and Green Woodpeckers heard several times. A Corn Bunting singing along the footpath to the N of the reserve. Also in the area a Fox, a Roe Deer and a Fallow Deer. Two Large Blue butterflies on the wing today. Also small numbers of Meadow Browns, Marbled Whites and Ringlets. (Steve Brown).

Cowley     A Red Kite today near Cockleford. (Steve Brown).

Leckhampton     Three Swifts over Fairfield Walk and a Green Woodpecker heard distant towards Pilley Bridge. (Steve Brown).

Winchcombe     Four Swifts screaming overhead, and two juvenile Goldcrests in the garden this evening. (Andrew Worthington). 40 Swifts recorded in the town on a survey this evening. Also a Sparrowhawk present. (John Kime).

WWT Slimbridge     The male WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT singing at Middle Point again today and showing well. (Mike Davis/Steve Money). On the Tack piece four Little Egrets, three Great White Egrets, an Egyptian Goose and c4 Green Sandpipers. The summer plumaged Spotted Redshank on the Top New Piece from Zeiss hide. 156+ adult Avocets and at least four chicks and three Little Ringed Plovers on South Lake. Coombe Hill Meadows     A QUAIL calling from the field adjacent to the path to the new hide from the canal this morning. (Nick Hughes). Also today 20 Mute Swans, a Greylag, eight Canada Geese, four Gadwalls, 30 Mallards, a Cormorant, a Great White Egret, a Grey Heron, ten Coots and an adult on the canal with five young, two Oystercatchers and a chick, three Little Ringed Plovers, 14 Lapwings, four Curlews, at least two Redshanks, an adult Common Tern and song from Skylark, Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Reed Bunting. Saul Warth     At high tide 98 Shelducks including 28 ducklings, 36 Curlews, 11 Oystercatchers, a Kestrel, six adult Great Black-backed Gulls, four Whitethroats, a Reed Warbler, a brief Little Owl, the first since January. Also the first patch Marbled White and Ringlet. (MK).

Forest of Dean     At Nagshead today a juvenile Hawfinch, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Siskin, a Nuthatch, a Coal Tit and a Garden Warbler. (Dave Stone).

Guscar Rocks/Aylburton Warth      Birds today included 20 Canada Geese, 18 Shelducks (also two creches of 20 nearly full grown and 15 smallish ducklings, and a recently hatched family of six), a Mallard, two Cormorants, two Grey Herons, five Oystercatchers, 78 Curlews, two Redshanks and song from Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Reed Warbler, Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat, Chiffchaff and Reed Bunting.
