Saul Warth     At high tide mid-morning 110+ Black-tailed Godwits, c100 Avocets, 25+ Curlews, a Whimbrel, four Oystercatchers, two Dunlins, a Lapwing, 120+ Shelducks, a Marsh Harrier, a Kestrel, 20+ Swallows, a Sand Martin and a Lesser Whitethroat. (MK).

Frampton     From Fretherne Bridge to Splatt Bridge two Little Egrets, four Oystercatchers over, a pair of Mute Swans with six juveniles, three Stock Doves, two Chiffchaffs, two Blackcaps and a male Reed Bunting. (MK).

Cleeve Hill     This morning four Stonechats, c20 Linnets, two Bullfinches, three Yellowhammers, a Dunnock taking food to nest, numerous Skylarks and Meadow Pipits and lots of Dark-green Fritillaries. (Paul Masters).

Ashleworth Ham     A ringing session today caught 48 birds including four Redstarts, three Sedge Warblers, 18 Whitethroats, five Lesser Whitethroats, a Blackcap, three Bullfinches and a Linnet. Coombe Hill Meadows     This afternoon a juvenile WOOD SANDPIPER, two Ruff, two Greenshanks, two Little Ringed Plovers, one a juvenile, a juvenile Redshank, a female Marsh Harrier and two Great White Egrets. (Ian Hull).

WWT Slimbridge    From the Estuary tower this morning 42+ Curlews, two Whimbrels, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 100+ small waders off the Royal Drift and a Peregrine. From the Robbie Garnett hide seven Green Sandpipers, three Oystercatchers, a Common Sandpiper and a Little Egret. On South Lake an adult Mediterranean Gull, the Black Swan, an Egyptian Goose with two goslings, the Spotted Redshank again, at least ten Ruff and an adult and a juvenile Little Ringed Plover. WWT Slimbridge     The male WHITE-SPOTTED BLUETHROAT still at Middle Point showed well between 8:30-9:15am and again this afternoon until 3:20pm at least. (MK/Andy Jayne). On South Lake three Dunlins, a Green Sandpiper, 120+Black-tailed Godwits, 20+ Redshanks, a Spotted Redshank, six Ruff, 6+ Lapwings, an Avocet, four Oystercatchers, a Black Swan and a pair of Egyptian Geese with three goslings. Whitminster     A Red Kite flew low over the A38 at Attwoolls at 12:55pm. (Ian Elphick).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This evening 12 Mute Swans, a Canada Goose, two Teal, 60 Mallards, a Great White Egret, a Little Egret, a Grey Heron, a Sparrowhawk, an adult female Marsh Harrier, a Buzzard, a Water Rail calling, three Little Ringed Plovers, a Black-tailed Godwit, a Green Sandpiper, a Redshank, 10+ Swifts, 15+ Sand Martins, 5+ House Martins and song from at least five Sedge Warblers and two Reed Warblers, also odd Blackcaps and Reed Buntings. Frampton pools    This morning 200+Sand Martins, 20+ Swifts, a Hobby, 109 Barnacle Geese, 56 Greylags, two Canada Geese, the Ross’s Goose, 82 Mute Swans, two pairs of Great Crested Grebes both with three young, two Oystercatchers, four Common Terns, four Little Egrets and two Kingfishers. Frampton     At Splatt Bridge this morning, two Common Sandpipers on the canal, five Bar-tailed Godwits flew N, a Black-tailed Godwit flew high S, 13 Curlews, 30+ Avocets over the estuary, a male Yellow Wagtail, four young Black-headed Gulls and a Common Tern flew S. (Gordon Hodgson). On Court Lake the Ross’s Goose, 55 Greylags, 92 Barnacle Geese, a Canada Goose, 60 Mute Swans, a Common Tern and 25+ Swifts. (MK).

Gloucester    At 5:20pm a Red Kite drifted low across the Randwick Park area of Tuffley. (Ian Elphick).

Gloucester    Between Longford and Abbots Lodge this afternoon three Little Owls, three Sand Martins, 40+ House Martins, a male Redstart, four Yellow Wagtails and two Reed Buntings. (Andy Jayne).

Forest of Dean     A Spotted Flycatcher in Bearfoot Wood, high on May Hill today. (Rob Guest).

Saul Warth     This afternoon two Avocets, 35 Curlews, six Oystercatchers, two Lapwings, a Little Egret, 45+ Shelducks including 15 ducklings, 16 Long-tailed Tits, a Swift, a Swallow, four Whitethroats, a male Blackcap and a Chiffchaff. Also a Roebuck, the first Brown Hawker and 2+ male Emperors. (MK).

Epney     At 3:45pm a Common Sandpiper, 15+ Sand Martins and an adult Great Black-backed Gull with commoner gull species. (MK).

Nailsworth     A very early male MERLIN, chasing a small bird at Barton End this afternoon. Also, two Red Kites, a Buzzard and a Kestrel there. A small southerly movement of 60+ Swifts this morning over Windsoredge. (Terry Grant).

Stonehouse     In the Bond’s Mill area this afternoon a Peregrine hunting high around the mill. Also a Buzzard, a Grey Heron, a Kingfisher, a Chiffchaff and a Kestrel. (Paul Sutton).

WWT Slimbridge    This morning the Ross’s Goose on the Tack Piece, which has now been present in the Frampton/Slimbridge area for 3 years, six Little Ringed Plovers, 70+ Black-tailed Godwits, four Green Sandpipers, an Egyptian Goose with six goslings and a pair of Common Cranes with two juveniles (view from Hogarth hide) on South Lake. (MK/Magnus Carter). This afternoon the summer-plumaged Spotted Redshank and four Ruff (2 white and 2 black in partial summer plumage) from Zeiss hide this afternoon. (Magnus Carter). Frampton pools     At Court Lake a Spotted Flycatcher with young, nine Little Egrets, 16 Coots, 13 Moorhens and 12 young, a Great Crested Grebe and three young, 89 Mute Swans and six cygnets, 55 Barnacle Geese and six goslings and 52 Greylags and nine goslings. (Nick Goatman).

Over     A Red Kite over the A40 at Over Farm at 7:30am today. (Martin Drew).

Hucclecote    This morning in the garden an adult female Mallard with a juvenile male. Yesterday three Mallards, an adult female and a juvenile male and female, a juvenile Goldfinch on a seed feeder and two Herring Gulls chased off the pigeons and ducks. (Harold Smith).

Frampton     A male Redstart in the bushes along the sea wall viewed from the towpath this morning. (Terry Grant).

Forest of Dean      At Nagshead from Campbell hide at midday a Hawfinch, a worn Great Tit and a pair each of Coal Tit, Blue Tit, Robin and Siskin. Also a Fallow doe with three fawns. Mid-afternoon a Spotted Flycatcher from the Short Trail. At Cannop Stoneworks from 4:30pm 3+ Grey Wagtails on and around the outfall including 1+ juvenile being fed by an adult. On the stoneworks hanging feeders a Marsh Tit, 2+ Great Tits, a Nuthatch, a pair of Chaffinches, 3+ Goldfinches and a male Siskin; also a Swallow briefly on the ground beneath. (Andy & Sue Gibbons).

Rodley     A Little Owl nest with juveniles showing and 5 metres away a Kestrel nest also with juveniles. (Rachel Thomas).

Coombe Hill Meadows     This afternoon 20+ Lapwings and six Mistle Thrushes on the same recently ploughed field. (Paul Clark). This evening ten Mute Swans, a Canada Goose, a female Shelduck, 60 Mallards, a Great White Egret, a Grey Heron, a Water Rail singing in the Short Pool, two Oystercatchers, 49 Lapwings (31 adults & 18 flying juveniles), two Curlews, an adult Redshank, 20+ Swifts, two Yellow Wagtails, ten Mistle Thrushes, and song from Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler and Blackcap. Also a roost of at least 1000 corvids in the Long Pool, the vast majority Jackdaws, and c50 each Carrion Crows and Rooks. (Mike Smart).

Gloucester    This morning a Red Kite at 9am, circling above the old gas works on the corner of Myers Road and Horton Road. (Julia Adamson).
