Frampton pools    The Court Lake Starling murmuration put on a show in a howling gale this evening, also a male Goldeneye, 43 Tufted Ducks, eight Gadwalls, 15 Mallards, 32 Cormorants, two Teal, 85 Pied Wagtails, 120+ Fieldfares, 40+ Redwings, three Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap and two Ravens. Coombe Hill Meadows     The water is not yet flooding the car park, but the towpath is under water. No access to the Grundon hide for some time therefore. Observed from the Apperley side at least 750 Wigeon, at least 1500 Teal, at least 50 Pintails, at least 75 Shovelers, at least 20 Tufted Ducks, 25 Coots, a Buzzard and a flock of at least 600 Fieldfares. Leigh Meadows     Viewed from the A38 at least 24 Little Egrets at the edge of the floodwater. (Mike Smart).

Also three Mute Swans, 12 more Canada Geese, five Shelducks, three Wigeon, three Grey Herons, two Kestrels, 15 Meadow Pipits and four Chiffchaffs at the sewage works. 1000+ Starlings flew W at dawn, presumably from the pools roost.
