Hardwicke     A SPOONBILL flew over heading towards Quedgeley at midday. (Nigel Young).

Saul Warth     Between 5:45-8:30am no tide, a pair of Mandarins, 62 Shelducks and the first five ducklings, six Sanderlings, 116 Dunlins, 162 Ringed Plovers, five Avocets, a Whimbrel heard, two Curlews, six Oystercatchers, a Little Egret, a Goshawk, a Kestrel, four Swallows and three Reed Buntings. Forest of Dean     Early morning at Nagshead, a male and a female Pied Flycatcher, a male Redstart and a Garden Warbler. (Danny Sturgeon & Rosy Heywood). Later three Redstarts, 2 or 3 Pied Flycatchers, a Nuthatch visiting a nest box, five Garden Warblers, four Siskins and a Green Hairstreak. At Cannop Ponds 11 Mandarins, four Grey Wagtails including a juvenile, three Ravens and a Dipper. At Minsterworth a Hobby over the A48 at 8pm and further on a Sparrowhawk being mobbed. Higham Woods     Two Nightingales heard, two Green Woodpecker, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers and two Garden Warblers. (Stephen Curtis & Carol Rushton/Mark Hobson).

Norton/The Leigh Meadows     Along the meadows down to the river this morning 10+ Chiffchaffs, 20+ Sedge Warblers, 15+ Blackcaps, 12+ Reed Buntings, eight Whitethroats, eight Skylarks, six Redstarts, six Linnets, four Yellow Wagtails, two Grey Herons, a Little Egret, two Swallows, four Sand Martins and 20+ Mallards. Kempley    A Cuckoo calling at Kempley Green between midday and 1pm today. On the Kempley to Dymock Road between New Rock and Dymock a Skylark singing and opposite Pitt House Green nine Red Kites and a Buzzard over a silage field being cut. (Steve Watts).

Calcot    A pair of Mute Swans with seven, day-old cygnets on the River Coln near Calcot. A Great White Egret downstream at Winson. Also an Otter. (Andy Lewis).

Gloucester     At Horsbere Brook F.S.A. this afternoon four Sedge Warblers, a Reed Bunting, five Coots, four Moorhens, four Mallards, three Swallows, a male Blackcap, a Grey Heron, five Lesser Black-backed Gulls, two Mute Swans, 11 Magpies and a Kestrel. (John Fletcher).
