WWT Slimbridge     A GARGANEY on the Dumbles scrape from Estuary Tower this morning. (Martin McGill). A summer plumaged Spotted Redshank and four male Ruffs in various states of moult from Discovery hide. A juvenile Barn Owl from Kingfisher hide. (Paul Masters).

Haw Bridge East     A QUAIL heard and seen really well again this morning at 4:30am. It’s in the rough field with the pylon and the sheep in by the river. SO 84485 26353 (Robin Lewis).

Saul Warth     At 6am no tide, fewer birds in the heat, 29 Avocets, 51 Curlews, seven Oystercatchers, 67 Shelducks, two Little Egrets, five Grey Herons, three Kestrels, four Skylarks, a Grey Wagtail, a Cuckoo calling, four Whitethroats and a Lesser Whitethroat. Also an Emperor dragonfly hunting Meadow Browns. (MK).

Kingswood (W of Wotton)     A Grasshopper Warbler this morning reeling in the hedgerow near the Ash Path, a patch tick. (Tom McCarthy).

Gloucester     This afternoon a flock of at least 50 screaming Swifts over Kingsholm. (Bryony Fulcher).
